1999 PORSCHE 911 996 CARRERA 2
3.4L H6 ENGINE, 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, 105,000 MILES

Up for auction with NO RESERVE, is my '99 Porsche 911.    Payment is due in cash or verified cashiers check from a Major bank.   Text me or Call me if you have any questions 859-803-0858 or email me through ebay.

The Engine runs great, sounds good.  Just had it in for maintenence, new oil change w/ filter, and had everything checked out, plugs pulled, K&N filter cleaned, diagnostic test,  it passed with flying colors.  It does have a slight oil leak, what porsche doesn't, nature of the h6 engine, I guess.  It's not from rear main or ims bearing, they were done in 09, mechanic says its valve covers, and something else I cant remember, but his recommendation was, the repair cost don't warrant the replacement for the tiny amount of oil I'm losing, and it never drips, its just residue.

The Transmission is good.  It has a short throw shift kit installed by previous owner, not a cheap one either, I have receipts.  It also has the GT3 shift knob. It's a 6-speed trans, all gears are good.  Clutch is good.  It was replaced by the original owner, with light weight flywheel, you can tell when you shift.

The Drivetrain is good.  It rides good.  Shocks seem good, suspension all seems tight to me.  The tires have good tread.  I just had the front brakes and slotted rotors replaced.  I went with original equipment.  Rear brakes are perfect, E-brake holds great, rotors look brand new.  It has a slight vibration at 80 mph on the dot.  85 mph and its back to normal all the way to 150 mph , that's as fast as I have had it.  Below 80 mph it's fine, very weird.  I dont know if some of the sticky weights have fallen off or something, I havent looked.

The Interior is near perfect.  9/10 for sure.  The seats are in great condition.  The carpets are perfect,  It has brand new Carrera logo floormats.  A/C is ice cold.  Dash, door panels, etc......all unscratched and in very good condition.  The leather on the seats is great, only just starting to show a tiny amount of wear, if any at all.  It has a middle console that matches the shift knob, door handles and exterior of the car, very nice.  Has a GT3 shift knob.  The stereo was upgraded by previous owner, he put in 4000.00 to sound system.  He kept his head unit, but everything else he left behind, it has it all, JL 8" subs, amp, crossover, JL audio speakers throughout, it sounds great.  Everything works except Cruise control, common 996 issue, and the previous owner told me that it has never worked.

The Exterior is great.  7.5/10. The paint shows very nice.  It has 3 scratches.  2 on hood.  and 1 on front fender, not very noticeable.  It has a couple chips.  It has 2 door dings on driver quarter panel, you would not seem them unless I pointed them out.  The underside is in good shape, no rust.  No accidents.  All original paint. Wheels are in good shape.  Glass is good.  Has tinted windows.

Porsche 911 GT3 dukes it out with MP4-12C on track and GT-R on spectacular roads

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been a favorite among auto journalists and car enthusiasts alike, but with the introduction of the new 991-generation GT3, which is the first GT3 with electric power steering and no manual gearbox option, how does it stack up to the competition from McLaren and Nissan?
Evo's Jethro Bovingdon attempts to answer that question by pitting the rear-engine Porsche against the mid-engine McLaren MP4-12C on a racetrack and the front-engine, all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R on some amazing, twisty European back roads. We won't give away the victor of either comparison, but we will say that, in Evo's test, the McLaren's 141-horsepower advantage doesn't give it as much of an edge over the Porsche on a racetrack as one might think, and the lack of a manual gearbox and the inclusion of electric power steering on the GT3 isn't detrimental to enjoying the car on a back road.
Watch the video below to find out which car Bovingdon prefers on road and track - we think you'll be happy to see him drift around turns every chance he gets.

Porsche rolls out new 919 Hybrid at racing gala

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

That Porsche is returning to Le Mans next year with a top-tier LMP1 entry is no news - we've known that for some time. We've even seen pictures of the car in question undergoing testing at various racetracks across Europe, been told who'll be driving it and given some basic parameters of what will make it go. We just haven't known what to call it, but now we do.
In detailing its full endurance racing program for next year at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Porsche has revealed that its new LMP1 racecar will be called the 919 Hybrid. So, something like the 918 Spyder, only one faster. With a four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors, the 919 Hybrid will be taking on the top class at Le Mans next year, with a compelling roster of drivers on the docket: along with Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani, Porsche has assigned its works driver Marc Lieb and F1 test driver Brendon Hartley to the effort. But that's not all Porsche has in store.
The factory is also supporting teams that will campaign the 911 RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the United SportsCar Championship here in the US, taking Porsche off the pit wall and right in the race seat for next year as part of a comprehensive new racing program, details of which you can read in the press release below.

Trump calls Germans 'very bad,' vows to stop their car sales in US

Fri, May 26 2017

TAORMINA, Italy -Talks between President Trump and other leaders of the world's rich nations at the G7 summit on Friday were expected to be "robust" and "challenging" after he had lambasted NATO allies and condemned Germans as "very bad" for their trade policies. Trump's confrontational remarks in Brussels, on the eve of the two-day summit in the Mediterranean resort town of Taormina, cast a pall over a meeting at which America's partners had hoped to coax him into softening his stances on trade and climate change. According to German media reports, Trump condemned Germany as "very bad" for its trade policies in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, signaling he might take steps to limit sales of German cars in the United States. "The Germans are bad, very bad," he reportedly told Juncker. "Look at the millions of cars that they're selling in the USA. Horrible. We're gonna stop that." White House economic adviser Gary Cohn on Friday confirmed the reports. "He said they're very bad on trade, but he doesn't have a problem with Germany." Cohn said Trump had pointed out during the meeting that his father had German roots in order to underscore the message that he had nothing against the German people. Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump had "tremendous respect" for Germany and had only complained about unfair trade practices in the meeting. Juncker called the reports in Spiegel Online and Sueddeutsche Zeitung exaggerated. The reports translated "bad" with the German word "boese," which can also mean "evil," leading to confusion when English-language media translated the German reports back into English. "The record has to be set straight," Juncker said, noting that the translation issue had exaggerated the seriousness of what Trump had said. "It's not true that the president took an aggressive approach when it came to the German trade surplus." "He said, like others have, that (the United States) has a problem with the German surplus. So he was not aggressive at all," Juncker added. In January, Trump threatened to slap a 35 percent tax on German auto imports. "If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," he said. "I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that." Last year, the U.S.
