Showroom condition no dings  or dents original paint excellent, interior perfect leather. . No acidents or issues everything is as new . I ordered this car from the factory and took delivery in Newport Beach Ca where it stayed for about 5 years before current Wa location always garaged non smoker  never in snow and seldom rain. All delivery documents, window sticker ,C. of A. and all service documentation serviced per Porsche schedule. A word about the Targa Top, it has been perfect from day one never a leak or squeaks and there is a sun shade curtain that covers the glass if desired  - electrically deployed of course. Truly a rare car only 334 1998 Targas produced and only 122 shipped to the USA and or Canada, unknown how many of the Targas have Tiptronic. Tires are Bridgestone SO 2 as original but they are the second set. I have made sure this car has been used and not sitting in a garage so seals ,etc are maintained and it has been driven as it should be no carbon.

Buyer pays shipping but I would be happy to expedite arrangements as necessary.

Topiary Joe sculpts the ultimate in green cars

Sat, Mar 15 2014

Efficient cars are all the rage these days, but Joe Kyte has made a business of crafting some of the coolest green cars around – literally. Kyte is better known by his nickname Topiary Joe, and in addition to being a talented artist, he is also a real gearhead. Kyte has been creating topiaries for the last 20 years. It began when he was marketing greenhouse products to Walt Disney World and saw their plant sculptures. He realized that he could do that and since then, has done around 3,400 pieces. His most intriguing creations are the rolling sculptures that move and turn. Prices for those start at about $18,000 and can be as high as $30,000. While, the wheels are machine-bent, Kyte said all the other parts are done with a table vice and a Lincoln Electric arc welder. Topiary Joe is taking the Porsche (pictured above) to Palm Beach later this year to sell or says he may donate it to Porsche North America. If you really want it, the sculpture is currently on Craigslist for sale for $24,000. Topiary Joe has also had a life-long love of cars. "I was driving my first MG Midget before I was 14," he told Autoblog. He grew up in Oak Ridge, TN, where the Manhattan Project was partially developed. He says the town was full of recent college grads driving Mercedes, and he caught the bug. His automotive mentor was a nuclear physicist who taught him to repair and restore the Mercs. Kyte has completed commissions for Sandals Resort, Dreamworks, Absolut, and many more. Among his favorite creations is the Ferrari that he created at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that is now exhibited at the airport each year before the race. Check out his website for a wider look at his work.

Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.
