Would rate at least a grade 2 and probably a 2+ on SCM's rating scale. Always garaged and never seen the rain or even wet roads during our ownership period. Professionally maintained by local independent Porsche specialist. Used by us as a GT car for road trips rather than as a daily driver subject to the parking lot wars. Special Porsche OEM power seats. Tires good.

This is the most desirable model year for the last of the 'real' (air cooled) 911's because it doesn't have the secondary air injection system which can clog requiring a maintenance procedure costing thousands of dollars. If you're looking for the epitome of the real 911's, this is the model and year for you.

Comes with OEM manual, OEM spare, OEM air pump and a high end Kenwood sound system.

If you are looking for a high end sports car with a great heritage in superb condition which has been treated as well as a car can be treated for its entire life, this one is for you. We will dearly miss this car, but several injuries (not due to car issues!) have convinced me that my time in a 911 is past. It's time for a Cayenne as our next Porsche.

We will cooperate with your local inspector if you wish a PPI and your shipper if you are not local. Delivery is a possibility too.

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.

Porsche inspecting 2,500 Euro-spec Macans for damaged brake boosters

Thu, 29 May 2014

Porsche is investigating a potential brake issue with 2,500 of its new Macan CUVs. The inspection focuses on the state of the brake systems following tests that discovered the brake boosters may have been damaged during assembly.
Porsche has pointed out that, despite the concern, the affected Macans still meet safety regulations. The issue is predominantly found in European-spec Macans, which according to Porsche, have been delivered to consumers. Owners of affected vehicles in Europe will be notified and asked to come in for a brief, no-cost inspection.
American consumers, though, have no reason to worry. We reached out to Porsche Cars North America, who confirmed that the vehicles in question were assembled before US-spec cars were screwed together.
