WP0EB091XHS170121
Summary:
• Hagerty condition 2.5 to 3 car with great looks and performance. A great driver and local show car that's loads
of fun to drive and gets all the looks.
• This is not going to be a collector or concours car. It's a "true miles unknown" car with blemishes and will
eventually need a top end rebuild (smoking on deceleration).
Details:
• 123K miles ("true miles unknown") due to odometer gear replacement by previous owner. AutoCheck confirms
mileage was not set correctly after odometer gear replacement but I have a clean and clear Virginia title.
• Marine Blue with completely refurbished new gray leather interior including newly recovered seats, door panels,
new carpet throughout, new sound system with remote. No cracks in dash and all controls work perfectly. Has manual
override button to activate power top without turning car off (handy if you get caught out in a storm and have to
get the top up in a hurry without having to turn the car off).
• Excellent top-- custom programming of key fobs to raise and lower power top
• Matching navy blue Tonneau cover and front bra also included
• Recently refinished factory Fuchs (16x6 front and 16x7 rear)
• H5s and Euro tail lenses
• B&B exhaust and cat-bypass pipe fitted; original muffler and brand new cat also available
• Carrera tail in black currently fitted; Turbo tail in Marine Blue available; original grill also included if
the new owner prefers no tail
• Everything works as it should other than AC which needs to be recharged.
• Even the shift light works properly!
• All services up to date including fresh oil (Valvoline VR1 20w50 -- with the extra ZDDP) and filter change;
recent K&N air filter fitted
• New rear sway bar mounts and bushings recently fitted
• New shifter bushings (not yet installed)
• 2 new front tires and professional 4-wheel alignment just completed
• Shows well, but some blemishes, dings and scratches can be found on front bumper, lower valence, rear bumper,
and passenger rear quarter panel.
• Occasional smoke condition on deceleration but drives and handles excellent!
• Has had front pan replaced due to an overcharged (leaky) battery
• Comes with original toolkit, jack, owner's manuals, some recent records, original spare, 2 programmed key fobs
with remote top functions
• Overall a great driver that looks the part and has lots of upside potential as the G50s are getting harder to
come by.
Previously asking $32,600 - Reduced to $26,950 obo - Hagerty-based realistic pricing. Rebuild the heads for $5k to
fix the valve seals and sit on it for a year and it's likely to be a $45K+ car.
Please inquire for a link to my Google Drive with some additional images including more under body shots.
I have had inquiries on the "TMU" title. To clarify, all this means is that because a previous owner replaced the
odometer gear and the miles were set incorrectly they checked the box on the title which indicated the true mileage
was unknown. The AutoCheck report available above confirms this and hence, the low AutoCheck score. There is no
problem with the title.

Porsche goes karting in its Cayman GTS

Sun, 03 Aug 2014

Think Mini is the king of Go-Kart Handling[TM]? Well, you might be mistaken, as Porsche proves here it's fully capable of delivering a driving experience that'd fit in quite nicely on a go-kart track.
Using a new and very red Cayman GTS, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer invades a kart track in northern Italy and sets the mid-engined sports car loose to slip, slide and zip its way around the circuit. As far as videos for Sunday evening go, this one ticks all the boxes.
Take a look.

Porsche acquires ANDIAL, will integrate with in-house motorsports

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Porsche has purchased longtime motorsports and tuning house ANDIAL.
The Fountain Valley, California-based tuning house ANDIAL has been around since 1975, when it was formed by the Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer and Alwin Springer (the company got its name by combining two letters from each of their names). The three men met while working in a Porsche dealership in Southern California and then left to start a business that would put Porsches in victory lane all over the country.
Porsches prepared by ANDIAL won IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, the SCCA World Challenge, four Pikes Peak class titles and the 24 Hours of Daytona six times. Alwin Springer left the company in 1997 to run Porsche Motorsport North America until 2004 and remains a consultant with PMNA, Wagner passed away in 2011 and Inzenhofer plans to retire this year. ANDIAL is still a going concern, Inzenhofer presiding over a scaled-down engine parts and restoration business. But Inzenhofer is retiring at month's end, making it a good time for Porsche to step in and take over the company's operations.

Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.
