Because nothing is absolutely perfect….
The interior is a 9.5! Even the driver seat has zero wear and that includes the infamous side bolster and piping. In addition, the carpet, door panels, headliner, the entire dash, as well as the gauges, knobs and all other surfaces are all like new with no fading or wear. It’s amazing! You may never see a nicer interior in a 34-year old Porsche.
The exterior is a 9.5! The 956 Zinc/Pewter metallic exterior of my 911 is flat out gorgeous! Every body panel is absolutely laser straight (there is one small/barely noticeable door ding on the passenger door) and all door and hood gaps are perfectly consistent. If one looks really hard (up close), the only flaws are a couple of very minor chips on the door’s edge and a few microchips on the front spoiler. Also, if the left rear Fuchs wheel is positioned a certain way, upon close scrutiny you will see some very light curb rash in a small area on the wheel’s outer edge. The blackout trim around all the windows is like new as are all the rubber door and trunk seals throughout. In addition, even the felt liner that seals the outside of the factory electric sunroof still looks new and has no discoloration. The overall exterior condition of this vintage 911 is simply astounding! Please note: My 911 has NOT been recently detailed for a temporary “show look” with shiny tires and “renewed” faded rubber trim/bumper pieces. It looks superb “AS IS.”
The mechanicals are a 9.5! It runs, drives, shifts and brakes like new! Zero smoke and no known oil leaks! To the best of my knowledge, my 911 SC needs absolutely nothing mechanically as of this point in time. It literally feels like it is a brand new car! Everything works properly including the lights, blinkers, windows, electric sunroof, and the A/C. Even the clock keeps perfect time! Turn the key and drive it cross country tomorrow. That’s the type of car it is… It is an absolute delight to drive. In addition, please note that this Porsche still sits at its original factory ride height – it has never been “lowered.” No silly whale’s tail, chin spoiler or gravel guards. Just simple, lightweight, quick and nimble…. The way the Porsche factory intended it to be.

Porsche completes production of 918 Spyder
Fri, Jun 19 2015Porsche is closing another chapter in its history as production of the 918 Spyder has officially come to an end. The only remaining question is: what comes next? The 918 was the latest in a long line of flagship supercars from the German automaker, starting with the 904 Carrera GTS, continuing on through the 959, 911 GT1, and Carrera GT. Each was a technological game-changer for Porsche, just as the 918 Spyder will surely be remembered. With the hybrid roadster now zipping off into the annals of history, all eyes will be fixed on Zuffenhausen to see what it does next. And though it may not be much to go on, we've already begun seeing some hints at what that could be. Last week Porsche released a solitary teaser image showing its next-generation sports car, covered and parked alongside the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid LMP1. Just what's under the cover, Porsche isn't saying, and didn't respond to our repeated inquiries for comment. However the signs point towards a mid-engined supercar – not unlikely to pack a hybrid powertain once again – positioned closer to the likes of McLaren 650S and Ferrari 488 GTB than the outgoing 918 Spyder, which faced off against the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari. If that turns out to be the direction Porsche takes with its upcoming new supercar, as has long been anticipated, it would hardly be unprovoked. McLaren recently launched the 570S as part of its new Sport Series to take on the Porsche 911 Turbo, and Ferrari is once again rumored to be pursuing the same with a new Dino. While the specifics may remain cloudy for the time being, what is crystal clear is that things are about to get very interesting in the battle between Porsche and its rivals. Today, the chequered flag marked the finish: after 21 months of production time, the final Porsche 918 Spyder came off the line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen according to schedule. But the legacy of this technology pioneer will reach far beyond its production time. Future generations of sports cars will benefit directly from innovations of the 918 Spyder. The 918 Spyder was systematically developed to be a performance hybrid with plug-in technology. The hybrid super sports concept car made its debut at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show where it met with overwhelming approval.
Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.
Porsche CEO Oliver Blume will be installed as head of the VW brand
Wed, Jun 3 2020Volkswagen Chief Executive Herbert Diess is planning to promote Porsche CEO Oliver Blume to take over as the head of the VW brand, according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport. Citing company sources, the German site said Bernhard Maier, who currently sits at the head of VW's Skoda brand, will lead Porsche in Blume's place. A shuffle at VW isn't surprising. The last thing Volkswagen needs as it transitions away from its long-running "clean diesel" TDI fiasco and into a clean electric ID future is negative press surrounding its burgeoning electrified lineup. Unfortunately, the ID.3 launch has been marred by software issues, with Manager magazine citing company engineers saying "the basic architecture was developed too hastily." Because of that underlying issue, various modules "often do not understand each other" and suffer dropouts. The brand-new eighth-generation Golf launch was also troubled and pushed back due to software problems. And more recently, Volkswagen was forced to pull an advertisement after admitting it was racist and insulting. That marketing misstep, according to the report, will lead to the firing of Chief Marketing Officer Jochen Sengpiehl. Related Video:
