This is a very unique opportunity to purchase a collector grade 356 Porsche Hardtop Cabriolet.  This all original, numbers matching 1959 356 Hardtop Cabriolet is a very rare find indeed.  This car actually spent most of it's life right here in Omaha, Nebraska in the basement of a local Porsche Club enthusiast.  It was purchased from a struggling dental student who needed money for semester tuition in the early 1960's.  From that point it spent nearly 40 years in storage, cared for by our local enthusiast.  The local enthusiast sold this car to a friend of his in Houston, Texas and then we purchased it from his friend a few years ago.  It's really kind of a neat story how this car made it's way back to Omaha, the Heartland of America.  Upon receipt, the car needed some TLC but had excellent "bones."  That is to say, this was an ideal car to perform a complete restoration on because it was truly a rust free example of Porsche history.  Our restoration specialist worked on this car for nearly 2 years before completing the job, and the results are truly magnificent.  Now better than new, you have the opportunity to purchase this absolute gem.  The 1959 356 Hardtop Cabriolet is a very rare 356 model, and you are not likely to see many others in existence today.  I promise, you'll be the envy of many if you decided to show this car competitively.  It's truly remarkable, and you need to see it in person to fully appreciate the talent and skill of our restoration specialist.  I promise you won't be disappointed, so make plans to come see this beauty today.  Call me now at (402) 592-1000 to make an appointment for viewing.

J.D. Power: Vehicle dependability at all-time high, Lexus and Porsche lead

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Each year, J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners of three-year-old vehicles to find out what kinds of problems they have had experienced over the last 12 months, and then it uses this data to create its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. This means that the models in the 2013 study are 2010 model year vehicles, and J.D. Power rates each make as well as the top individual models based on how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
Debunking the idea that carryover models are more dependable than new or updated models, the 2013 study found that the average carryover model experienced 133 PP100, while all-new or redesigned vehicles for the 2010 model year had 116 PP100; vehicles that received minor changes fared the best with just 111 PP100. The overall average for all makes was 126 PP100, which is the lowest figure since the findings were first issued in 1989.

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe vs Porsche Panamera Turbo S in unusual lux showdown

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

We'll admit it, we're really looking forward to more time with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. Compared to other high-dollar luxury coupes - we're looking at you Bentley Continental GT - it's more stylish, easily more affordable, and since it's a Mercedes, lacks the sense of fragility that comes with a more exotic name plate.
Auto Express has taken a whack at reviewing the new two-door S-Class, and for some reason, the British mag is comparing it with a Porsche Panamera. Now, while comparing the looks of an S-Class Coupe and a Panamera is a bit like holding a beauty contest between Kate Upton and Medusa, this isn't as bizarre a pair as you might think, particularly when you opt for the high-dollar S63 AMG Coupe and the Panamera Turbo S.
The two offer similar power outputs from their force-induced V8s - 577 horsepower in the Benz and 570 horsepower in the Porsche - and are even similar in terms of interior and exterior dimensions. The S-Class actually has an extra inch between the axles and is 1.2 inches longer overall (it's also about 300 pounds heavier). In the cabin, the S-Class also has a tiny bit more rear legroom, with 33.4 inches to the Panamera's 33.3.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
