1958 Porsche 356 A coupe.  This car is a rust free Arizona car since new.  All original sheet metal. NUMBERS MATCHING CAR. No floor sheet metal has been repaired, this car has never seen rust including the battery box, which is in excellent condition.  All original numbers matching doors, front and rear trunk, this car has never had any sheet metal clips on the body. It's 100% original. I've been the owner of this car for 32 years.  It's an excellent driving car for road trips or car shows.  The engine in the car now is a 356 hot rod motor.  It was built by MAESTROS # P4O90776 they are a very precision built engine for high speed and high tork all day long.  This car has a cruising speed of 80-MPH.  That's where this car is at it's happiest.  The car has an original patented 1958 red emergency road kit. It also has an original Porsche factory tool kit and bag.  It has a new old stock original truck lid rack made by Litez.  The car has been converted to 12V for better lighting and starting. I HAVE THE COMPLETE MATCHING NUMBERS ENGINE THAT GOES WITH THIS CAR.  The speedster seats in this car do not go with the car. I have an original 356 seats that are at the upholstery shop being done in black leather that will go with the car. These speedster seats go with my speedster and I'm keeping them.  Has 4 Koni adjustable shocks all the way around. AM/FM CD with 6 CD changer, comes with pop up dvd screen for movies or the menu on the stereo.  When this stereo was installed there were NO alterations done to the dash or speaker holes.. everything is mounted below the dash.  This is the kind of car that you can jump in and drive across the country. It's always been garaged.  Yes the wheels are not original they are after market. I like the look thats why I installed them and I had custom Porsche center caps made to made them look like they are part of the car.  Car has full leather interior .  That means no vinyl anywhere except headliner.  Sold as is, buyer responsible for shipping.  IF YOU HAVE AN EBAY FEEDBACK SCORE OF 5 OR LESS DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR.  IF YOU DO BID WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST I WILL REMOVE  YOUR BID..  happy bidding.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.

Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.

Jay Leno welcomes finely rebuilt Porsche 356 into his garage

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

Not a month after the Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer visited Jay Leno's garage, another artfully restored Porsche has rolled in. This time it's a 1957 Porsche 356A Outlaw, the "outlaw" moniker referring to Porsches that have been restored outside the bounds of period-correct orthodoxy.
This 356A was literally done from the ground up by Michigander Chuck Olenyk, the floor of the car having fallen apart so badly that he couldn't remove the roof at first since it was holding the vehicle together. Olenyk said that of the 2000 hours over seven years that he spent restoring the car, 500 were spent just on repairing the rust. That's undoubtedly some of the reason why when he tried to sell the unrestored car as a roller in the nineties for $1,000, no one would take it off his hands.
Olenyk fitted a mildly tuned engine from a Porsche 912, the transmission from a 356B, the brakes from a 356C, Fuchs mags and a modified replicar Speedster roof from Intermecchnica. It lacks nothing even with just 115 horsepower, and it adds to that with charm and aural appeal. You can see and hear the full story in the video below.
