2007 Pontiac Vibe Base Wagon 4-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Quicksburg, Virginia, United States
This auction is for my wife’s 2007 Pontiac Vibe. We purchased this vehicle new from Charlie
Obaugh Pontiac, Buick, GMC in Harrisonburg, VA.
It has been a very reliable vehicle for us, but our family has grown and
we needed a larger SUV. It is a simple vehicle,
with manual locks and windows. The
maintenance schedule on this car has been followed exactly per the manual. Every oil change was performed with fully
synthetic oil and a premium filter. The
car has never been in an accident, but did have a paint repair done by the
dealer under warranty on the roof due to a factory defect. The Vibe does have some blemishes which I
have shown in the pictures. The only two
I could see that I would consider a minor dent are on the driver’s side
B-pillar and on the front passenger door above the handle. Also there are spots on the nose from bugs
and road debris that I couldn’t seem to wash off. I included pictures of each wheel because
three of the plastic hubcaps have cracks in them. The spark plugs were recently replaced at
120K miles with OEM Denso Iridium plugs.
The battery was also replaced recently with an Autocraft Gold
battery. This car has an aftermarket
Avital remote start system installed, which was completed with all connections
being soldered connections with heat-shrink tubing covers. No cheap clip-on connections were used
anywhere. The mechanics of the car are
in excellent shape. The engine runs
perfectly and the transmission shifts like new.
The car tracks straight down the road with no steering pull, no
vibrations, and no funny noises. Feel
free to ask any questions. I will do my
best to respond promptly. Payment can be
made via cash or cashier’s check only.
Thank you. |

Detroit City Council vetoes Autorama stunt, objects to Confederate flag
Wed, Feb 20 2019Detroit's Autorama hot rod show will stage its 67th annual event next month, and wants to kick off with Burt Reynolds tribute. The plan is to re-create the Mulberry Bridge jump from " Smokey and the Bandit" using a movie-correct 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. But the Detroit City Council voted 7-1 to prohibit the jump. Why? Because the Trans Am's front license plate holder displays the former Georgia state flag, a portion of which is the Confederate national flag, and the city council doesn't like that. In the movie, Bo "Bandit" Darville was a Georgia driving legend, and the flag on the car was Georgia's flag at the time. Councilman Scott Benson laid out the council's position when he said that the car "still proudly flies a Confederate flag, which is a symbol of oppression, slavery, as well as home-bred American terrorism. So this body said we are not going to support that type of symbolism nor the audacity to support that type of activity in the city of Detroit." It seems part of the council's ire comes from the same event two years ago. A stunt group called the Northeast Ohio Dukes re-created a "Dukes of Hazzard" jump in 2017 using a series-correct 1969 Dodge Charger, complete with a Confederate flag on the roof. Benson said the stunt group "expressly said they would not display that [Confederate flag] symbol during the jump." Not only was it displayed, but when driver Raymond Kohn gave interviews after the jump, his driving suit featured the Stainless Banner on the collar. Seems the council has been grinding its axe in silence for two years. Now Benson accuses Autorama of "a history of supporting images and symbols of racism, oppression, and white supremacy." Autorama is certain to take place March 1-3 at Cobo Center. This year's show will have around 800 cars on display, along with a special exhibit of 17 low riders and a Batmobile built by Flint native Carl Casper. Even if the Bandit car doesn't make the jump, the Trans Am and other memorabilia from the film will be there. A spokeswoman for Autorama said, "We are continuing to work to try to resolve this with the city." Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
