See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Presents itself as new. (Both front fenders have very minute scratches that were caused by performance shop.) Never outside overnight, Never driven in winter, stored in heated & cooled garage. All original paint that appears like a custom finish. Detailed continuously with the best available products. Underneath is extremely clean and all suspension mods are as new. Engine compartment is as clean as it gets. Always hand cleaned, never had water sprayed on it. Interior also appears as new. Very few front passengers ever, and to my knowledge, no rear seat usage. (Both interior doors have 1" crack on top window sill which is common on all F Body cars of this era.) Personally I wouldn't mess with them. Tires are new Continental Super Contacts. Orig were becoming unsafe. T-Top never off. Just passed strict NJ Inspection for next 2 years. I haven't seen a better one that's been driven. Completely legit and I'm the second owner. First owner was a real "old lady" from Illinois.(it's true !)"

This WS6 is one of the lowest mileage, driven, Trans Am's available for sale. This is the last year of production and the very best build year. I purchased this car 2 & 1/2 years ago. At that time it had approx. 8,500 miles. It was female owned and she could never get used to the harsh ride and road noise. It basically sat in her garage for 10 years. The good part is that no one beside herself ever drove it before my ownership. It was bone stock as well. Still had the original tires.

Below are the performance options that have been installed. I personally installed most of these but when it came to camshaft, ring & pinion etc , those items were professionally installed by a local, well known, old school, detail oriented, speed shop.

Engine Modifications:

Kooks Long Tube Stainless Headers with High Flow Cats. ( just passed 2 year NJ inspection ) 3" Stainless Magnaflow Piping & Quad Tips, SLP Performance Induction Kit & Lid. MSD Wires, Predator Custom Grind Cam, ( I have complete spec sheet )Comp Cams Valve Springs, Timing Gear & Chain, Manton Push Rods, Custom Tune by Bruce's Speed Shop,

Suspension Modifications:

UMI--Front & Rear Sway Bars, Rear Lower Tubular Control Arms, Rear Panhard Bar, Sub Frame Connectors,  Torque Arm w/ relocation kit, Tower Brace, Tunnel Support Cross Bar w/ Driveshaft Loop.  Strano Custom Springs and Performance Valved Bilstein Shocks. Summit Hot Rod Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors. High Performance Ceramic Blend Pads, Poly Bushings w/ Grease Fittings.

Driveline Modifications:

Motive Gear 3:73 Ring & Pinion. Retains Factory Electronic Control.  10" 3200-3400 Stall Torque Converter.

 Other:

GM Battery 2 years old. Replaced the original.  Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires.  New Safelite Auto Glass Windshield. ( Original was broken during camshaft install.)

Note:

I have most all of the original parts including, Camshaft, Valve Springs, Push Rods, Torque Converter, Timing Gear & Chain, Suspension Pieces, Exhaust System, Springs, Shocks, etc etc. If you want them you've got them as long as you arrange the pick up.

These F-Body cars, that are in premium condition, are becoming harder to come by.  2002 was the last of them and the best year for quality and performance.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
