I have a very nicely restored 1978 trans am for sale. The car was completely restored within the last 5 years and is in excellent condition showing less than 50,000 original miles. This was restored as a light resto mod with lots of upgrades see list below of things done. The entire engine was meticulously gone through and rebuilt with forged pistons, aluminum heads with light port job, lunati cam, aluminum intake and quadrajet carb, dynoed at approx 300 hp at rear wheels and I have all paperwork from dyne. The suspension was redone, replacing nearly everything and installing a new limited slip w/3:55 gears in the rear end. As for the body the car was very solid when we found it and only had 1 small rust spot behind drivers rear wheel other than that it was very clean so no major body work was needed and the car was repainted the original nautical blue with a little more metalic added to really make the car stand out. The interior was completely redone with new seats front and rear and a custom audio system added. this car needs nothing and I would not hesitate to take it on a cross country trip. Well over $20,000.00 was invested in the rebuild!

Vehicle must be paid in full and funds cleared my bank before it will be loaded on a truck otherwise bring balance in cash at pickup. I can store vehicle indoors for a reasonable amount of time until car can be picked up at no charge but car must be paid in full within 7 days of auction end.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
