1978 Macho T/A #124 Silver Anniversary Edition. There were only 4 silver anniversary edition cars made. This is the only 4 speed car, the other three were automatics. All had T-tops, and were optioned the same. They were all ordered by the same dealer in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have the documentation for the work performed by Mecham and the PHS.
The body work was done a few years ago by a company in Salt Lake. The passenger rear quarter was replaced and the drivers floor was replaced. There was a small lower patch on the driver side. This car should be rust free.
The motor is a 400 with Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake. The radiator is also a aluminum flow cool. The headers are hooker competition full length silver ceramic coated. The exhaust is made by Pypes. The 4speed is connected by a centerforce clutch. I just put on the new a/c rotary unit, all new lines and condenser. It isn't charged and it needs the original ac power connection made.
It has all new bearings and bushings. The front suspension has Hotchkis 1" lowering springs with koni shocks with all new front steering parts. The rear springs are new as well with Koni shocks.
I replaced the dash and in doing so ended up with a gremlin. I turn on the wipers and all my gauges work, I turn off the wipers and the gauges turn off. Then the next time everything operates like it should. Then the blower motor quite.
The car has sat for the last few years with little attention, besides the occasional starting and warming up. My interest are drifting elsewhere, this is a great car that needs a new owner to give it a little more attention.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported
Thu, 13 Feb 2014General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
