1977 Trans Am,400, Hard Top ,automatic on 2040-cars
Vancouver, Washington, United States
Have owner this car for 5 years. I decided to sell the car because I have one too many cars . MORE PHOTOS Coming soon, I bought this car from a guy who built started restoring it with his daughter. She got burnt out on the car so it sat around until I came along. The two restored the suspension, and had the non numbers matching Pontiac 400 engine and transmission rebuilt to factory specification. Receipt's available upon request .The heads were rebuilt and they are the 6 X heads. The engine is a 1977 block. The engine and transmission have about 8000 miles on them since they were rebuilt ,so they have a long life left if they are taken care of correctly. The exhaust is a factory style dual exhaust system that's nice and quiet. It has its original exhaust manifolds, I don't like headers so I like the stock exhaust. When I got the car I rebuilt the entire brake system including the brake power booster .The front wheel bearings were also replace with new races. This includes new front calipers and rear brake cylinders and rear brake shoes. Also I replaced the alternator , battery , spark plugs ,spark plug wires ,car and rotor .I also serviced the transmission and pan gasket . The rear end is the original factory positive traction. The wheel bearings were replaced by the prior owner, when I had the rear end serviced the bearings were confirmed by the mechanic to be in great condition. This car is a rust free car ,There has never been any rust to be repaired .It is one of the cleanest, and rust free cars I have ever found. Also I can not see any signs of any prior damage from a crash,The inside quarters are all original ,So no the quarters have never been changed, no need . The hood opens with one pull of the hood release. The hood release is not broke ,it is still like it was when it was new. The Shaker needs its rubber seal ,haven't had time to buy one and put it on. The car is a driver ,a car you can drive across country and not worry about it breaking down . The wheels and tires are Year one 17 inch new style snowflake wheels with new tires. The paint is less than 4 months old. The seats are cloth and the back seats are vinyl. The car was originally a white interior car and someone converted it to black . The dash has a small crack ,but all the lights and gages work ,as well as all the wipers and heater controls work. The light brown dash is the way it was when it was built by Pontiac I just had the windshield replaced while it was being painted, we pulled it ,painted the car ,then installed the new glass. I had the rear glass pulled and resealed the same way so I knew it would not leak. the car does not leak oil or transmission fluid after its been sitting. The trunk does not stay open by itself .I have the correct parts to correct the issue included with the car I have a business here locally .Ovation Restoration in Washougal Washington ,I have an a+ rating with the BBB because I'm honest My e bay score is low because I have not had a chance to build it up until now. The buyer is welcome to have the car inspected. The buyer is required to pay for shipping if you choose to not come pick it up in person .I will help you and work with your shipper to get the car loaded and on its way safe and sound,. |

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
