It is all numbers matching from the complete engine, trans, axle etc. Car is 99% disassembled and comes with lots of extra parts that are new or originals off of parts cars. Body/Interior: All original parts are there and then some. The car needs most sheet metal. I have all original panels. I have good fenders off parts car. Average doors off parts car. Needs rockers. I have aftermarket YearOne Quarter Panels. Needs very little floor work, needs panel behind rear bumper, frame rails are good, front sub has been sand blasted, bumpers are good, newer Year One lower valance. I have a couple odds and ends mostly tail lamp sets, trunk lids spoilers, dash etc. Needs all new interior and weatherstrip. all glass is original and good. I think the only thing possibly missing is factory exhaust manifolds which were badly cracked. Replaced with Hooker Super Comp Ceramic Coated Headers.

I have tried to describe this to my fullest ability. This is a project and although it sounds like a lot, its really no more then restoring any other car of its era. I have been doing them for almost 20 years I just can't bring myself to do this one and it has sat for too long. Time to move on and let some one else enjoy her. I did have it appraised to sell it and my reserve is set below the appraised value. Please ask all questions before bidding or final bid. No one likes suprises on either end of a car sale so please ask questions and i will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. Car is sitting on body cart but not physically attached. You will need at least one truck and a trailer. I have a small barn full of parts.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
