2004 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt Widetrack on 2040-cars
Montpelier, Vermont, United States
For sale is my Green 04 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt. It has 150,232 Miles, Has some Bumps and Bruises and a dent on the lip of the hood. But no rust under the car what so ever, only surface rust on body where paint has chipped. Like i said, Under is SOLID, rockers Mint frame MINT. Now for the needs, It needs [ Will need ] Front Tires before October's inspection, Needs a new serpentine belt, I just replaced the Tensioner Assembly as I thought it was that due to the play in it, but the belt still squeaks from time to time, Either needs a new AC compressor or By-pass belt due to noisy compressor [ Mechanic Said Bearing's or something were gone ] But it doesent affect the driving. Recent brakes and front end parts, I think it needs a alignment but not to sure was told to get one after but never did, steering is kinda weird. But didn't bother me. Interior is clean I do have kids so it could use a vacuum. Worn Buttons on Radio and LCD works when it wants, If ya owned a Pontiac from 90's til now, then you know what I mean. All in all it's a decent car for cheap money that runs and drives that needs work eventually but nothing dire that needs to be done now, which is a rare thing. and these things don't diture from next inspection!
I just Did a coolant flush oil change n filter and air filter and transmission filter for a 150k service. I don't NEED to sell but I am looking into getting a truck or SUV. new serpentine belt! ** This car is sold as is where is as seen, no warranty expressed or implied all known defects/problems are in the description ** |

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
