I have here a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP purchased new in 2000 and garage kept by the original owner ever since. It has been very well taken care of. The exterior is in incredible condition with the only problems being the hood has some heat cracks in the paint (hardly noticeable) and the front right bumper has a very minor scrape from catching a sewer. The inside is also in very good condition. Perfect condition grey leather interior shows no signs of stress at all. All interior lights work including the Heads Up Display (HUD) on the windshield. The carpet is in perfect condition due to being covered with "Husky" floor mats their whole life. It has power everything, including a sunroof. A SONY head unit is installed and it has an aux and usb hook ups. My dad has done a lot to the car. The body has 180XXX but the engine was replaced 70XXX miles ago with a 05' generation 3 motor. The extra horsepower in the '05 motor combined with the mods below has boosted the engine to around 300 horsepower. Additionally, the transmission was completely rebuilt 40XXX Miles ago (including valve body upgrade to handle extra horsepower).
Other Notable Modifications:
ZZP Cam and heavy duty valve springs
3.4 inch SC pulley (increases boost and adds 25-30 hp)
180 degree thermostat
Performance spark plugs
K&N induction
Hot wire to fuel pump (more voltage to pump to insure plenty of fuel to intake)
ceramic coated header
high flow cat/Down Pipe
SLP aftermarket exhaust (Car has a very healthy rumble)
Re-programmed PCM (increases throttle response, shift points, removes top speed limiter, etc. . .)

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown
Fri, 22 Aug 2014Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
