Great 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix, which is hard to find in this condition.  The car runs great and you can drive it anywhere.  It is a driver and would need a few things to bring it to show quality, including paint.  The interior is in good shape considering it's age and has an upgraded stereo in the glove box.  In the past two years I have done the following...radiator re-cored, new water pump, hoses, thermostat, twin 14" electric pusher fans, alternator, battery, voltage regulator, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, and lines, master cylinder, shocks, tires (barely a year old and few miles), all fluids and filters serviced.  The steering is tight and rolls very smooth down the road.  Some rubber bushings on the front end would need to be replaced at some point, but it fine now.   The body has a few dings, but no dents.  Most of the rubber on the doors and trunk needs to be replaced and can be done so cheaply.  Most of the chrome trim is in great shape too. The gas gauge did work, but I broke a copper piece on the sending unit when I cleaned up the tank.  The previous owner put a different dash in the car, so the mileage is not accurate, and the engine has an upgraded cam and timing gear/chain.  Remember, this is a driver and is not show quality.  We drive it weekly and have to take it on the interstate to get anywhere around here and have no issues. I had big plans for the car, but have too much else going on now to do so.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way

Tue, 21 Feb 2012

There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
