1969 GTO I bought this car to restore but I have another 69 GTO im building and I don't need 2. This is a very rare car its factory Black with red bucket seat interior. When was the last time you saw this color combo that came factory? This car has been stored inside a dairy barn for the last 25 years and was last on the road in 1987. Im going to list all the options this car has but I have no clue if it came from the factory this way or not. It has hideaway lites with a nice endure bumper. Remote left side mirror. Tach and gauges in dash. Wood PMD steering wheel. 4 speed transmission with center console. Bucket seats with headrest. I counted the turns of the driveshaft and wheel while off the ground and it came up just past 3 1/2 turns I believe 3.55 I checked it twice and got this ive never pulled the cover to be exact. It is a limited slip has the tag on cover and everytime I pop the clutch it spins both wheels. I believe its a posi but I could be wrong. It has Rally II wheels with the correct JA code they have 16 of the original black center lugnuts 2 black center pmd caps and 2 trim rings that attach to the outer lip of the rim. Car has a good set of tires. I also have a Ram Air set up looks like most of its there please look at pics. Car has a good hood with hollow holes I don't know if its a real ram air hood. I have a extra set of #62 heads that came with the car when I bought it was told they were original I don't know. This is a manual drum brake car with power steering. I have 4 T3 headlites along with other parts that go with the car. what you see in the pics is all I have.  The engine is a 400 but is not the original engine!!! Someone started bodywork 25 years ago they put some patches in the trunk they used rivots and welded them in. They welded patches to the lower rear of each fender. They put lower quarters on it. They used rivots and welded those also. The floor has a couple patches done the same way. The trunk lip is nice around the windows looks good doors look good. This will make a nice car!!!!! But it needs a full restoration. I put a temporary gas tank on it a set of plugs and points and a good battery and got it running. The engine has good oil pressure no knocks or smoke. I ran it up and down my street a few times and burned the tires a few times then the carb started overflowing. It will still start and move but the carb is leaking bad. The car has little to no brakes. Remember it sat 25 years. Does roll very easy. I will help as much as I can on pick up. I expect 250.00 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. The balance within 7 days of auctions end. These ads cost 55.00 please be a real bidder. Im selling this car NO/RESERVE!!!!! Whatever it brings it sells so bid to own and only bid what you are prepared to pay. Good luck and thank you. If your serious you can call or text Billy (270)564-3996 Car is selling as/is where is.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
