Lakewood, Ohio, United States

This is my 1967 Pontiac GTO rare Sport Coupe, only 7,000 produced. True 242 dash "z" code car. Built in Fremont, California. Original Nevada car. Brought to Ohio in 1995. Car has been stored out of the weather in dry barn for 20+ years. Car still retains all factory floor pans, trunk pan, and frame which are still in perfect solid condition. Body also in very solid condition, with the exception of left rear tail panel and bumper, needing repair or replacement. Due to the time in storage and not being started car needs complete restoration. This is a great opportunity to start with a very solid foundation, needing no major rust repair. Interior is decent but would recommend re upholstery. Motor is a "YS" high performance code block. With #62 heads linked to a M20 close ratio muncie transmission. Motor turns free but needs gone through before attempting to start. Also included is a 1966 Tri Power intake and carbs. Buyer will also receive original 4 barrel carb. Intake still needs mounted, also comes with correct 1967 front grilles, trim and good rear bumper core. Just to come across a true sport coupe in such solid condition is rare on it's own. Immediate deposit of $1,000 upon auction end to paypal. Balance due within 5 days of auction end. Car not released until all funds clear paypal and in my account. Car also being offered for sale locally, therefore I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Any questions feel free to message or contact at (216) 501-3586. Thanks and good luck bidding.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
