1967 Pontiac Gto *numbers Matching* No Reserve on 2040-cars
Reading, Pennsylvania, United States
I have a Numbers Matching 1967 Pontiac GTO for sale. This car the the factory colors of Tyrol Blue with Parchment interior and black carpet. I have documents from the Pontiac Historical Society on this specific vehicle. This is a factory AC car. The compressor is not installed, but I do have it and it is included in the sale. Car runs and drives great. Test drives available to serious buyers. Please see below for details. If your looking at this you obviously know that these GTO's are amongst the rarest and most desirable vehicles in the muscle car world. This is what I would consider an investment grade car. These continue to sky rocket in value year after year. Get this one now before its to late!! I will ship this vehicle on the condition that it is picked up at my house and you arrange the shipping. I will only end this auction early for the right price. I previously had this listed and had multiple offers over my starting price. PLEASE do not bid on this if you do not have the funds. If you are the winning bidder, you have entered into a contract to purchase this vehicle and I am not going to negotiate another price for it. I have this vehicle for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. Sold as is where is with no warranty implied. Engine - Original 400 Big Block / FACTORY YS performance heads. Heads were tanked, rebuilt, and surfaced by a reputable local machine shop. Original Quadrajet carb is on the engine and was rebuilt in 2011 by a professional shop. Engine was cleaned and painted with Factory OEM Pontiac GTO engine paint. Original chrome valve covers and air cleaner. AC compressor is not installed but is included in the action. POWER STEERING. This engine is stock as it would have came from the factory. Transmission - This is an automatic transmission with original Hurst Shifter. Transmission was professionally rebuilt in 2011. This car has the "His / Hers" package which means you can manually shift gears. I was told by the previous owner that this is the original trasmission that came from the factory, but I don't know how to verify that. Shifts and runs smooth with no problems. Body - This vehicle was painted in 2013. The car was taken down to BARE METAL (See Pictures Below). It took over 6 months to paint this car and I paid almost as much for the paint as I did for the car itself. It is the Factory color of Tyrol Blue. The paint is what I consider immaculate, but I will let you decide that. All the body panels were removed and and James ect were painted. I have a TON of pictures of the vehicle in pieces as it was painted available at the buyers request. NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH ON THIS CAR. The underside looks great with no rust. Frame is solid as a rock. Trim - All of the trim on this car is factory original to this car except the front turn signal bezels and the driver side rear view mirror. The chrome is decent on this vehicle, but it isn't show quality. Due to how original this car is, I opted to keep the trim rather then replace it with OEM stuff made in Taiwan. Out of the entire vehicle, I would say the trim is the weak point as far as being in immaculate condition. Interior - Interior is Parchment with black carpet which is the factory original colors. The back seat and front passanger seat are the original upholstery. The driver seat was rebuilt and and reupholstered in 2014 by a local upholstery shop that has been in business since 1950 and specialize in vintage cars. The seat backs looks perfect. Carpet is in perfect shape. The headliner was installed in 2014 by the same shop mentioned above. It has no flaws and looks great. The dash looks great as well. Has factory radio and speakers in it but they do not work. Glass - The windshield has a small crack in the upper left corner. It doesn't effect eyesight or cause any problems. The rear Glass looks good with some scuffs on it. Exhaust - This GTO has a turboflow 2.5 inch Duel Exhaust which sounds great. |

Junkyard Gem: 2006 Pontiac Solstice
Wed, Sep 4 2019The debut of the Pontiac Solstice, back in 2005 for the 2006 model year, stirred up much excitement in the automotive world. Sales were brisk at first, and then they weren't so great… and then Pontiac itself went under The General's cost-cutting axe. One thing I have learned during my junkyard travels is that even sought-after sports cars eventually reach a point at which they start showing up in the big self-service junkyards. For example, the BMW Z3 began appearing in such yards about five years ago, along with the Audi TT. While the Honda S2000 still appears to be exempt from this process, today's Junkyard Gem shows that the time has now come for the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky. The first Z3s and TTs I saw in the U-Wrench-type yards were crash victims, not worth fixing, and that's the case with this Solstice. In a few more years, I'll start seeing the occasional Solstice/Sky discarded due to general worn-outness. Someone grabbed all the undented front body parts and the transmission (these items, presumably, being valuable), but no junkyard shoppers have felt like pulling the non-turbo 2.0-liter Ecotec. The interior seems dirty, probably from exposure to the elements while sitting outdoors in this Colorado Springs wrecking yard, but not in bad shape otherwise. Perhaps the car's owner celebrated a return from Iraq with the purchase of a sporty new Pontiac, 13 years ago. These cars have an enthusiastic following, so I wasn't expecting to see a junked one so soon after production ceased. I felt the same way about the Chrysler Crossfire, however, and I found two of those last year. What's next, a 2002-2005 Thunderbird? This content is hosted by a third party. Burt Reynolds’ former 1978 ‘Smokey’ Pontiac Trans Am in big auction by feds
Mon, Oct 21 2019A 1978 Pontiac Trans Am once owned by Burt Reynolds as a memento of the car he drove in the film “Smokey and the Bandit” will be among nearly 150 muscle cars and luxury vehicles seized from the alleged perpetrators of an $800 million investment scheme that will hit the auction block this weekend in California. ItÂ’s said to be the largest single-owner car collection ever auctioned by the U.S. Marshals, seized late last year from Jeff and Paulette Carpoff, the founders of the now-defunct mobile solar generators company DC Solar. Two employees of the San Francisco Bay Area solar energy company, certified public accountant Ronald Roach, 53, and general contractor Joseph Bayliss, 44, both of the Bay Area. pleaded guilty Tuesday to participating in what federal prosecutors say was a massive scheme that defrauded investors of $1 billion. Both men agreed to cooperate in the ongoing investigation. While the Carpoffs, the company's owners, have not been charged, they agreed to let the government auction their collection of 150 classic, performance and luxury vehicles, including the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am once owned by Burt Reynolds. The replica of the car the late actor drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and the other vehicles are to be auctioned Saturday, with online bidding already pushing the accumulated value past $5.5 million. Bidding on that Trans Am alone had topped $65,000 by late Tuesday. The auction company said it had been driven less than 3,400 miles. It's the largest single-owner car collection ever auctioned by the U.S. Marshals Service. Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Lasha Boyden of the Sacramento office called it "a stunning collection of vehicles" that also includes 1990s Humvees, 1960s-era Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros from several decades, plus older cars including a 1939 Buick Roadmaster, a 1951 Chevy Thriftmaster 3100 pickup truck and a 1941 Plymouth Special Delux with wooden doors and trim. “It is rare for the U.S. Marshals to hold an auction of such a stunning collection of vehicles,” Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Lasha Boyden in Sacramento said in a statement. ReynoldsÂ’ former Trans Am is a hardtop memento of the version he drove in the 1977 action comedy. It bears Bandit Run logos in the rear window and upper windshield and appears to have modified suspension components and bucket seats. It comes with a Florida registration with ReynoldsÂ’ name on it, and an autograph on the glove box that reads, “Be Safe!
GM's got 107 problems and NHTSA's No. 1
Thu, Mar 6 2014General Motors' problems with its recall of roughly 1.6-million vehicles continue to mount. Now that it has emerged that GM knew about the problem since at least 2004 but waited to recall vehicles until February 2014, regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have begun a much deeper investigation. NHTSA has sent a 27-page survey to GM that includes 107 questions about the timeline of what led up to the recall, and it has until April 3 to reply. This isn't a simple, multiple-choice test. Automotive News believes that hundreds of pages could be required to answer some of the queries. NHTSA says that it is still investigating GM's response to the recall. "We are a data-driven organization, and we will take whatever action is appropriate based on where our findings lead us," said NHTSA in a statement on its website. If found liable, the automaker could face a fine as high as $35 million and even possible criminal charges, according to Bloomberg. NHTSA's questions include a detailed explanation of GM's examination process; how it will improve the process; why a planned redesign of the cars' key in 2005 wasn't implemented; and specific data on each complaint it received. According to Bloomberg, NHTSA also has records that show the company had a meeting with regulators to discuss the airbag failure in a Chevrolet Cobalt in 2007. New GM CEO Mary Barra has also hired an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation about what happened. It will include questioning company employees who were involved with the process from the start. The recall stems from faulty ignition switches that shut off the car while driving, and if it occurs the airbags deactivate. Thirteen deaths and 23 crashes have been caused by the problem, according to Bloomberg. If you would like to peruse NHTSA's entire questionnaire for GM, it can be viewed here.
