HI I am offering to America for the first time this magnificent 1966 Pontiac GTO. This great legend of the Muscle car world has just recently completed a 6 year frame off rotisserie restoration. Nothing on this car has not been restored or replaced to its former greatness. This Pontiac started its street life in St Louis Missouri at Vincel Pontiac. The current owner found this numbers matching car in a barn in southeast Missouri 7 years ago. It was the typical love story boy sees car buys it and restores it to its current immaculate condition. As we all no numbers matching barn finds are becoming myths. This GTO has been PHS documented and owner has all build receipts. Car has less than 500 miles on it since completed it was completed in 2012. Odometer show's around 80,000 miles we think that is correct from cars condition when restoration started. All chrome and stainless has been either polished or replace. Paul's Chrome Plating of Pennsylvania did most of the plating, including the console which cost $1,000. GTO Rally I rims are original and in show quality condition. Tiger paw tires are new. Car has numbers matching 389 YS code 335 Hp engine. Which has been completely rebuilt, engine was bored 30 over to give it that extra thump. Engine color's match motor as it came from factory. Automatic numbers matching transmission. All under carriage restored along with brake lines brakes shocks exhaust etc. Car has power steering. Working our way up we see the beautiful Rare original 1966 paint color Marina Turquoise. This car comes optioned with matching turquoise interior. If you check your Pontiac history you find this combo very rare. Car has era correct a/c which works excellent. Car has factory correct original am radio. Rally gauge cluster is new at a cost of $600.00. Pontiac steering wheel is new USA mfg bought new from Ames Pontiac. Car is equipped with deluxe seat belts. The doors are whisper quite and aligned beautifully with all new weather stripping. I think I have described car as best that I can. Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
