Noblesville, Indiana, United States

Let me start by confirming that this is a real GTO. It is powered by the famous 389 c.i. V8 with an automatic transmission.  It has power disc brakes, power steering, and vintage A/C. This car is strong to say the least.  The front suspension has been rebuilt. Power disc brakes are new including the master cylinder, booster, calipers, lines, rotors, spindles, bearings, etc. New vintage A/C unit has been installed and it uses the factory controls.  A lot of the engine components are new including the water pump, fuel pump, carburetor, radiator, and alternator. Very clean engine compartment with most items powder coated.  The numbers 272954 WT are stamped on the front of the motor and 9778789 B25 are stamped on the rear of it.  It rides on near new Firestone G-70/14 redline tires. The car has older paint that still looks good overall with a nice solid body. Most of the weatherstripping is new. The interior looks good but seats have a few repairable seam splits and it needs the new headliner installed which comes with the car. The am radio comes with the car but is not installed (we were planning on using a CD player). The tachometer and wipers are currently not working but are complete with no missing parts. The VIN # is 237375P349911 and it has the correct 5N code on the trim tag. This is a good driver quality car that gets lots of attention and turns every head it passes. Seems everyone likes a bright red GTO. The new owner will be provided a clear Indiana title and a bill of sale. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close. The remaining balance is due with 72 hours of auction close. Also, bidders with less than 10 eBay feedback need to contact me before bidding or your bid may be cancelled. The reserve has been set low so this beautiful car will definitely sell!! Thanks for looking and Good Luck!!

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
