This is a very original all numbers matching, 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Coupe. Has all proper documentation from Jim Mattison of Pontiac Historical Services. There were 55,722 of these cars produced and only 20,547 with tri-power.
The paint is a “good 20 footer” with beautiful patina. No dents or rust. Paint has been rubbed out a few times so the paint is getting a little thin but people love the look. It still has the original Cragar SS Spoke Mag wheels on it that were on it when I owned it in high school. I also have a set of the original Rally I wheels with red line tires that would have been original equipment. It looks great with those wheels on if you want the truly original look. The original spare tire is still in the trunk that was in there when I owned it the first time!
The interior is all original. There is a small separation at the seam on top of the driver’s seat. This is a simple fix that I just haven’t gotten around to. Otherwise the vinyl is all original and in great shape. Still has the original carpet. Dash looks great. The headliner in the rear has a little issue from age which I have shown in the pictures. It needs a new turn signal cancel switch but this is a pretty easy fix as well. Otherwise it's ready to head down the road for hours of pleasure!

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
