   HELLO THERE. Thanks for looking.

1991 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM. SUPER CLEAN! SUPER SHINY! NEEDS NOTHING! Just turn the key and Drive.
I use this car as my weekend driver and keep it in the garage. It's been babied by the previous owner and me.
ONE ADULT OWNER UNTIL 100K. My coworker bought it for a short while, but then had to sell it. Then I bought it and I love it.
We live in the city and bought another car, so we decided it's best to sell this one. The reserve is set low, to about half of what I spent on it. Priced to sell, good luck.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION: 10/10 ENGINE NEEDS NOTHING.
The engine is a 305 V8 with almost 300lb/tq. That the LB9 TPI V8. Strong. Around 105k on the car, which is LOW MILEAGE for the age of this car. Definitely very well taken care of. The Firebird was inspected in October and I paid an extra 400$ for an engine tune up and front suspension work. Tie rods,Spark plugs, wires, fuses and vacuum hoses were replaced. Also, shortly after I purchased the car, the fuel pump failed. 600$. So, you also have a New Fuel Pump in it.
The engine runs strong and sounds great. The transmission shifts smoothly and works perfectly.

EXHAUST: 9.5/10 Exhaust is in good shape. I purchased a New Dynomax Muffler for the car. Sounds Awesome! Nice low grumble, but will not wake up the neighbors. I also coated the muffler before installing it to protect it against corrosion.

INTERIOR: 9.5/10 When I bought the car, it was super clean. I'VE GARAGED IT AND IT'S VERY CLEAN!
All the gauges work except for the gas gauge. I bought the unit that needs to be replaced, but haven't gotten around to fixing it. Unit will be included with the sale. The Driver side window motor was replaced. Works great.
Heat works great. AC worked great.
Seats and carpets very clean. The dash is in great shape and Does Not have any cracks or sun fade which is typical of these cars. That shows the car was probably garaged most of its life. Headliner is in good condition.

It is 2014, so its does have and aftermarket Stereo and CD player with an aux jack. A small plastic trim is missing from around the radio face plate. It never bothered me. Speakers were replaced and sound better than some newer cars I've been in.
The Firebird does have a Racing Steering Wheel which I get many compliments on. Let me tell you, it makes turning so much easier and makes the car a lot easier to control. Plus it gives more clearance for your thighs, especially if you are taller or thicker.
Leather shift boot and leather glove compartment. Like I said, SEATS ARE SUPER CLEAN. NO CRACKS ON THE DASH. VERY CLEAN.

EXTERIOR:  The FIREBIRD IS A HEAD TURNER!
This is a beautiful daily driver or an awesome weekend car. And with a few details being taken care of, this could be a show car. I'll point everything out.

BODY STRAIGHTNESS: 9/10 Body is Great condition. Look at the pictures. Passenger door and fender have a few small parking lot dings. Barely noticeable, only if you are looking for them. Can't even see them in the pictures. Driver's side is pretty straight. Trunk, wing, roof, front bumper, rear bumper and hood are straight.
When I bought the car, the aftermarket hood was misaligned a bit from the previous owner installing it.  I never got around to mess with it because it never really bothered me. You can mess with it and align it if you want. Hood is painted to the stock color so you really can't see the gap too much.

Anyways, The Hood is really Awesome! Really gives it a Muscle Car feel while giving the engine better air flow and cooling it down better. Very cool muscle car feel.

PAINT: 10/10 The paint is AMAZING. Again, the pictures speak for themselves Very Shiny! NO fading, NO peeling, SUPER GLOSSY. A REAL HEAD TURNER. That's the way I bought it, garaged it, waxed it and it's still just as shiny. Nice weather recently so I just hand waxed it a week ago. You can give it wax again maybe at the end of the summer.

T-TOPS! The T-tops are in great shape! Awesome to look up and see everything, including the stars at night. Take a look at the pictures. No leather holder. Also, brakes are good.
FOUR MATCHING TIRES WITH 80-90% TREAD. Put on in Oct 2013. These should last you a few years. Headlights work great, look at the pictures.

RECAP: Great running engine and Transmission. New muffler.Very clean interior with new radio, new speakers and an awesome steering wheel. Body is great condition. Paint is in A+ condition. T-Tops are A+ condition. Four Matching Tires with plenty of tread. Just turn the key and drive with confidence.

Want to buy a worst-in-show-winning Faux Ferrari Fiero?

Mon, Aug 31 2020

UPDATE: This heap sold for $5,001. But don't fret, there are more terrible cars out there for the taking if that's your thing. Today we bring you something truly terrible. It's not just a fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero, it's actually the world's worst fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero. And it's got the award from the Concours d'Lemons to prove it. It's so heinous, in fact, that it has somehow managed to become desirable, at least judging by the bidding history of this bright red affront to Maranello. Powered by a 140-horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine (covered by an unconvincing and broken fake V12 cover) hooked to an automatic gearbox, this gloriously poor Prancing Horse won't be winning many stoplight drag races. There are bundles of stray wires hanging down from the dashboard, it has high mileage, most of its lights don't work, and it's ugly. Like, really ugly. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. Somehow, bidding has topped $4,000 at the time of this writing. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.

This or That: 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 vs. 1984 Pontiac Fiero

Tue, Feb 10 2015

Welcome to another round of This or That, where two Autoblog editors pick a topic, pick a side and pull no punches. Last round pitted yours truly against Associate Editor Brandon Turkus, and my chosen VW Vanagon Syncro narrowly defeated Brandon's 1987 Land Rover. In fact, it was, by far, the closest round we've seen, with 1,907 voters seeing things my way (for 50.8 percent of the vote) versus 1,848 votes for Brandon's Rover (49.2 percent). Sweet, sweet victory! For this latest round of This or That, I've roped Editor Greg Migliore into what I think is a rather fun debate. We've each chosen our favorite terrible cars, setting a price limit of $10,000 to make sure neither of us went too crazy with our automotive atrocities. I think we've both chosen terribly... and I mean that in the best way possible. 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Jeremy Korzeniewski: Why It's Terrible: Taken in isolation, the Chrysler Crossfire isn't necessarily a terrible car. In fact, it drives pretty darn well, and there's a lot of solid engineering under its slinky shape. Problem is, that engineering was already rather long in the tooth well before Chrysler ever got its hands on it, having come from Mercedes-Benz, which used the basic chassis and drivetrain in a previous version of its SLK coupe and roadster. Granted, the SLK was an okay car, too, but even when new, it hardly set the world on fire with sporty driving dynamics. Chrysler took these decent-but-no-more bits and pieces from the Mercedes parts bin – remember, this car was conceived in the disastrous Merger Of Equals days – and covered them with a rather attractive hard-candy shell. Unfortunately, the super sporty shape wrote checks in the minds of buyers that its well-worn mechanicals were simply unable to cash, though an injection of power courtesy of a supercharged V6 engine in the SRT6 model, as seen here, certainly helped ease some of those woes. In the end, Chrysler was left with a so-called halo car that looked the part but never quite performed the part. It was almost universally panned by critics as an overpriced parts-bin special, which, I must add, was damningly accurate. As a result, sales were very slow, and within the first few months, dealers were clearancing the car at cut-rate prices, just to keep them from taking up too much of the showroom floor. Why It's Not That Terrible, After All: I can speak from personal experience when discussing the Chrysler Crossfire. You see, I owned one. Well, sort of...
