I've decided to let go of my firebird. I have a baby on the way and a new job that doesn't allow me to drive it as much as I'd like. I've babied it the whole time I've had it, always parked in the garage, and I never drive it in the rain. It's a fully optioned '97 Formula with the LT1 V8, 152k miles, automatic tranny with 21k miles on rebuild, shifts firm, leather seats, t-tops, '02 Trans Am honeycomb tail lights. It's all stock except for the full exhaust that I spent $1100 for a few months ago (sounds amazing). Runs and drives great, very reliable, lots of power. Maintenance always up to date. You can definitely tell that the car has been cared for.
List of new parts within the past six months (I have receipts for everything):
-New Pacesetter Long tube headers
-New Pacesetter offroad y-pipe w/o cats
-New Hooker Aerochamber cat-back kit
-New Energy Suspension Polyurethane motor mounts
-New coolant temp sensor
-New AC Delco spark plugs
-New EGR purge solenoid
-New battery
-New front O2 sensors
-New rear O2 sensor simulators
The interior is in great shape for its age. Typical wear and tear that almost all these f-bodies have, tear in driver seat, headliner has a few small separations, crack on the dash. The driver side window motor is not working but I have a new one in the box that goes with the car which also has a lifetime warranty. AC has a leak and compressor makes a noise occasionally but blows cold when charged. Tires are in good shape and no curb rash on the wheels. Nose has light fading as most do although its nowhere near as bad as others. One small crack on passenger side of rear bumper. The door panels don't have any cracks like most others do. All in all, this is a very solid, nice driving, clean LT1 car that is ready for some cruises. Unfortunately I don't have any time for it and I'll be sad to see it go. I have much more into it than what I'm asking. Clean blue title in my name. If you have any questions or would like to see the car, please message me.

Sell Your Own: 2006 Pontiac GTO

In the early '60s, Baby Boomers born immediately after World War II were beginning to buy cars and enjoy their own distinctive music. This wasn't yet the drug culture; rather, it was the drag culture, more Jan and Dean "Dead Man's Curve" than Beatles "Lucy In The Sky." And a Baby Boomer's desired ride, more often than not, was Pontiac's GTO. Introduced as a manned-up option for Pontiac's compact Tempest, the early GTO was 389 cubic inches of romp and stomp. And with a marketing campaign that hit Middle America via what it watched and ate (TV ads and cereal-box promos were a big part of the GTO launch), there was no escaping it. Like most performance coupes and convertibles, 10 years later it was became an emasculated version of its once lusty self. And then it was gone. Its revival, championed by General Motors executive Bob Lutz, was not by any stretch the Second Coming. Starting in 2004, GM modified its Australian-built Holden Monaro to approximate the excitement of the original formula: a coupe body propelled by a big V8. But the Holden's sheetmetal was quietly styled, and even the 400 horsepower available by 2006 didn't electrify buyers. With hindsight, the resurrected GTO is enjoying more attention and, slowly but surely, increasing in value. This for-sale example shows well, enjoys low mileage, and is – naturally – priced well above what is perceived to be its market value. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
