1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Santa Rosa, California, United States
I am selling my 1974 Pontiac Firebird Espirit. I was going to make a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am clone out of it. That is why it comes with a 70 nose piece and trans am fenders. Also have the shaker hood for it. It needs quarter panels. And Trunk filler panel. The floors are solid, as are the frame rails. This is a project car. Interior is complete. Engine and transmission appear to be original, but someone had put an edelbrock intake on it. Does not run. Buyer will have to arrange to have it shipped. It also comes with the shaker air cleaner. I have the pink slip in hand. It is on non operational registration. I am selling because I have too many projects and moving to a different state. I do not have the original grille or bumper to this car. Thank You for looking. Please ask questions before bidding. I would hate to send this car to the crusher, but I will if it does not sell this time. I will not be relisting it. |

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
