1968 Pontiac Firebird NO RESERVE

This is being sold as a GREAT project car and needs some work before being driven.
Could be a decent "Fix as you drive" with a little work OR, due to the fact that this car has never been (improperly) restored, has great potential to be MUCH more !!!

Original Verdoro Green paint. Solid body with little rust as shown in the pictures.
Original black seats and interior are very decent shape for age, could use new black carpet and drivers lower door panel is worn if you chose to restore interior.
Still has factory AM radio in the dash!
Very original car EXCEPT that a previous owner swapped out the original engine with what we were told was a Chevy 350 crate motor. The engine runs well but is missing a throttle linkage part that unfortunately went to another past restoration project therefore we are calling it non-running/driving. Additionally it will need battery, oil change, fuel system flush, etc. and generally gone over before buyer should attempt to make it run or drive as the car has been in our storage since July 2004.

Original vinyl top has been removed and will need some repairs to roof and window edges before replacing (see pictures!) Some included trim has been removed to show repairs needed.
Trunk floor pan is very solid with surface rust (again see pictures) and solid near shock towers.
Driver and passengers floor pans are solid but some rust has begun and could be repaired if you desire.

All the glass is good including the windshield.

We will not guarantee anything regarding running/driveablity as we are selling it as a project or to be restored and it has been in storage for quite some time. We assumed we would find a proper Pontiac 350 to rebuild for the car if we ever got to restoring it so we have spent very little time on the mechanicals of the car.

Very hard to find one like this that has never been improperly restored or messed with/up.

Please email with questions and include your phone number and times to call if you want to discuss anything by phone.
You can also leave a message at 308-687-6097.
We are selling this Firebird NO RESERVE to the highest United States only bidder as a NON-RUNNING PROJECT and emphasize it is being sold AS-IS with no guarantees. What you see in the pics is all you get, Nothing else included
Buyer must contact us within 24 hours and make full payment of entire purchase price within 72 hours of winning high bid by either CASH IN PERSON or BANK WIRE TRANSFER to our business account.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs/fees or may pick up the car in person

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
