1967 Firebird 400 Convertible Runs And Drives But Needs Restoration on 2040-cars

1967 Firebird 400 Convertible, the car is solid but needs to be restored. I was driving the car the way it is last year, I bought it as a drivable project but I don't have the time to do it right now. It runs, drives and stops, and was actually fun to drive the way it is. The car has never been restored before, all body panels are original to the car, it is an unhacked original car. Structurally the car is solid, the floors the rockers the frame rails, the trunk are all solid. The car needs a full restoration, there is rust in the quarter panels, but the inner wheels houses are solid. It needs both bumpers, it needs carpet, dash pad and a top. Like I said it needs a full restoration, or drive it the way it is, thats what I did. The motor runs fine and the car was ordered with a 3 speed manual transmission. I would suggest looking at the car in person, pictures never tell the full story, email with any questions.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Wed, 15 May 2013When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion.
