Classic Bright Red 1986gt Pontiac Fiero 2 Seater Scarce, Stored Well Cared For on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
1986GT PONTIAC FIERO with 114,000 miles. IT IS A CLASSIC, and MAY BE LISTED as HISTORICAL. IT HAS BEEN STORED MANY YEARS with no Sun Damage as pictures indicate. BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL RED. I did drive it home with a 2 day pass from DMV. It drove fine. It has been taken care of. IT HAS BEEN out of the salt, from WEST COAST. The car is a 2 seater. 14,000 were made in 1986 and 6,000 were the sought after RED. It has a sun roof, and is automatic 6 cylinder. I have seen some of the other Red 86's and this was is about an 8 and a stand out.The engine is clean as can be seen. The interior is in great shape for 28 years of age. The seats have red covers to match the outside and grey underneath as can be seen in the picture. Take a look at the dash and the window trim, nice grey, not beaten up. The FIERO on the Wheel is also lightly used. The car has an aftermarket STEREO and DVD TELEVISION for the passenger. The outside has NEW TIRES and RIMS, please look at. I am selling because of age and do not have a garage to store it. It deserves a new owner .and someone to take care of this classic GEM. This car is very nice and probably needs some maintenance for sitting so long. This car is not under warranty, has some chips on the paint, but is very SHARP. You will need to have it shipped. It needs to in a garage at night for safety, which I do not have.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero
Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
