1985 Fiero 308 Replica. 2.8 V6 4 Speed Manual. Air Conditioning, Sunroof, Suspension Lowered, Custom Tires and Italian Ferrari Rims, Runs GREAT!! Email for appointments. It was painted Ferrari red by a previous owner who claimed to have spent $3500 on the paint job. I've owned this car for about a year and a ton of work has been done over the last 3 years. Starts and runs great every time! I can't garage it and I live around a bunch of trees, so I want to sell or trade it (for a Harley Davidson). This car turns heads everytime I'm out! Driver's side headlight motor needs fixing along with some interior cosmetic work.

I use Black Label Performance (they do great work and can add a 3.8 for about $4K). They added auto door locks.

- A/C has been converted to R114 with a new belt.  However, when charged it cooled the car for about 20 minutes then stopped cooling.  Consider buying a dye kit (about $10) and find the leaks and repair it or have someone repair it.  The compressor turns and sounds fine.

- Small water leak on the passenger back corner of sunroof.  Needs new gasket or the seal fixed.

- I would buy wheel spacers for the rear tires to move them out a few inches.

- replaced the passengers seatbelt to a new red one, consider doing the same to the drivers just so they match.

- Needs a prop for rear trunk

- Needs new spring for rear trunk release (needs 2 people to open, one pushes button and one lifts rear hood because spring doesn't spring it open)

  GOOD LUCK!!!!

- The steering wheel cover is a special fit leather cover made for that exact wheel. There's about 50 stitches on the cover that was hand stitched. It is not a cheap cover you just slide over the wheel. It was about $75 for it and the previous owner spent about an hour sewing it on.

- The stereo is a pioneer with a removable face and CD player. There are speakers (new) in the dash and there are speakers in both of the seats that are original and work great.

-A cup holder was added to the center console, cut and fit to the size of the holder. Good for coffee in the morning.

- The horn button is a exact fit for the wheel. I had trouble wiring it up because you need to run the wires through the center portion of the wheel. This requires removing the wheel, but without a wheel puller, I couldn't do it. So I added the red button you see on the right side dash for the horn. I think it looks cool. The horn works great, just need to wire it up to the wheel button. Then you can use the red button for something else, like a "go fast" kit. I did have it wired to the wheel button for a while (not going through the center) but would get cut over time. You really need to pull the wheel out to route it properly.

- High beams work fine, but I use a small button attached to the actuating rod for the high beams. Again, the wheel really needs to be pulled to get this wired to the turn signal rod.

- It does have cruise control but it's not working now. It's probably a very easy fix like a small vaccuum leak but I haven't looked into this at all. Plus I'm always in traffic so cruise does me no good.

- There is a locking mechanism for the gas fill port that works fine. The filling tube doesn't quite line up when filling gas. But I will get this fixed before selling the car. I think it's an easy fix that I'll get done next week.

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
