Here we have up for sale a 1965 pontiac catalina convertible in almost all original condition. We got it from the original owner who hardly ever drove it and it was parked in his garage everyday since it was new! It has 90,700 original miles which is nothing for it age. The car still has the original black calif plates. The car was built here in Southern California and has never left the area since.
The car was repainted once about 8 or so years ago but other that that the car is original. It still has all the factory interior which is in almost perfect condition. The only flaw in the inside of the car is the dash pad does have some cracks in it as does the steering wheel, but its nothing that cant be repaired.
The convertible top is the one it came with from the factory and still shows nicely and works great there are a couple small spots where it shows its age but is still very nice and has a glass rear window not plastic.
It still has the original 389 motor and trans and it runs great. The alternator and the water pump were just replaced and it has new brakes and shocks.
There were 92,007 of these catalinas made in 1965 of which 18,347 were convertibles and after fifty years most of them are rusted away or just gone! You will be hard pressed to find a beautiful driver quality pontiac like this one and if you do it will probably be more money than this!
This car is by no means a show car but it gets thumbs up and comments every time I drive it!

Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:

Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
