Clean, One Owner-purchased used from Credit Union with 700 miles on it as it was used for a golf tournament, Only driven an average of 7,000 miles per year, WELL KEPT! Car Still Runs strong and is still driven daily.  Car is beautiful with only some slight fading on rear bumper and spoiler.  Very few dings and scratches but overall looks great.  Interior is clean for its age.  Could be a good starter car, but does need a little TLC.

The TLC Needed to get this GREAT car strong for you.....(If you know a good mechanic, these fixes won't break the bank)

Car Definately Needs:
1.  Rear Driver's side Window Regulator (part included)  If you know how to put this in, you can save a bundle.  I put in one in front all by myself (well I watch a youtube video that some gentlemen recorded of step-by-step instructions and WOW did I surprise myself. (receipt available, purchased from Car Quest, 09/03/11
2.  AC Compressor Leaks (can purchase online and save $$ from dealer's high prices)  Several websites available specifically for Oldsmobile parts that can save you a bundle.  Find a local mechanic willing to remove and replace and then COOL AIR!!! Or go without as we have, which works, too.
3.  Valve Gasket Cover, Mechanic indicates oil leaking and Valve Gasket Cover (rear) needs replacing to stop leak.  Part not too costly if purchased online (like $60.00).
4.  Warning Light Issue - - Does not affect performance of vehicle.  According to forums on Oldsmobile Intrigues, this problem could be related to ABS sensor.  I purchased the speed sensor already, but never installed it.  I figured I'd start with this and then move on to other potential recommended repairs.  (Speed Sensor included) Again, purchasing parts online can save serious dollars. THIS CAR can be fixed.  We really love this car, but need to sell.

5.  Cassette Stuck, could be minor fix.  All other stereo parts works.

The Good Now:

4 Tires still have good tread, Purchased at Discount Tires at 88,710 miles, Michelin Primacy, 60,000 Mile Warranty on Tire still in effect.

Replaced Crank Position Sensor at PepBoys, (receipt available), 06/05/12, Limited Warranty still in effect.

Replaced Water Pump, Harmonic Balancer, and Vibration Damper at PepBoys (receipt available), 09/28/12, Limited Warranty still in effect.

Radiator Drain and Fill at PepBoys 09/28/12

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  I'm happy to share any information with you that might assist you in purchasing my car.  Sad to see it go, but it's time for something newer.  It has been a good car and a pleasure to drive!  My car is still my daily driver even with all these issues.  I consider it reliable. They do not impact the drivability of the car.  Oil leak is very slow but I do recommend you change your oil promptly every 3,000 miles so you don't run low.  (this is what I've been doing so I know that the leak is there but I haven't been overly concerned as long as I check my oil regularly.  Car does not leave oil spots so it would not be noticeable to anyone unless you've been told.

Warning Lights on don't affect drivability of vehicle.  AC is nice to have but I roll down windows and I'm fine for the most part, but this does not affect drivability of car either.

Rear Driver's side window falls but with a little duct tape on inside, I've been able to hold it up.  This does not affect drivability of car.  Part included with purchase of car.

My car is listed locally and on craigslist and I will end auction early if I get an offer and don't have any bids.  However, once you bid, I will honor the 3 day listing and you will win the bid!  So, BID, BID, BID!!!

Thanks for looking and ask questions if I didn't address something you are concerned with.

Happy Bidding!

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
