2003 Nissan 350Z (Performance Edition)
71,3xx miles
Silverstone grey/black cloth
  • Wheels are paint matched Silverstone grey (can't upload more than 24 pictures so only showing the 1 wheel that has a tiny bit of road rash, the rest are in perfect condition)
  • Front Tires: TOYO Proxes4 (245/40 R18), will need new front tires fairly soon
  • Rear Tires: Federal Super Steel 595 (245/45 R18), rears have less than 500 miles on them
  • Power windows, locks, rear hatch, door side mirrors, etc.
  • OEM security system with panic alarm
  • Remote keyless entry (works for rear hatch as well). I have the original keys/remotes: 2 remotes, 2 normal keys and 1 valet key. Also has lojackŪ hidden in the car (I never used it personally), you can read more and download the user manual at lojack dot com, I have 2 lojack key fob sensors for the system.
  • I have all the original manuals that came with the car plus the full mechanics service manual on CD
  • The A/C blows super cold and works great
  • Automatic temperature control for heater and A/C (can be turned off and controlled manually)
  • Tilt steering wheel
  • Auto-dimming rear-view mirror with garage door transmitter for 2 garage doors - HomelinkŪ system
  • Rear window defroster, rear window wiper (with intermittent) and rear spray-wash switch
  • Gauges: battery voltmeter, engine oil pressure, tachometer with programmable rev warning light, engine coolant temp, fuel
  • Trip computer cycles through: outside air temp, speed indicator, distance to empty (fuel), average fuel consumption, average speed, elapsed time, trip odometer, stopwatch, tire pressure indicator, up-shift indicator setting (2000-8000 rpm)
  • Cruise Control
  • HID headlights
  • VDC - Vehicle Dynamic Control with on/off button
  • ABS Brakes
  • Dual exhaust
  • Pioneer DVD Player, I installed a red switch to allow for DVD playing while driving, the console cover closes over it and you don't see the switch anymore also has upgraded speakers (I don't remember the brand - I think Alpine, they were already installed in the car when I bought it.
  • Newer battery - 09/2011, I have a quick disconnect switch on the battery that I use to keep the battery level up and for added theft protection as I only drive the car on special occasions.
  • I had Nissan do the 60,000 mile tune up after I purchased the car and everything checked out except rear brakes, they were replaced and fixed at that time. There was also a recall on a fuel hose that was replaced then too. I have records of everything I did while I have owned it.
  • New "Y" section of exhaust was replaced last July because it was damaged over a speed-bump, again, I have a receipt for that.
  • I have an extra set of OEM Track edition rims, the ones designed by Ray Engineering that will go with the car too. They aren't in perfect condition, has some minor road rash but they are all straight, still useful for winter or whatever. No tires are mounted on them.
  • I have some odds and ends stuff that will go with the car too. OEM front chin aero deflector still in the package, Nissan wheel locks still in the package, a few random clips, stopper kits for both driver and passenger side windows still in the package. The earlier 350z's had problems with smudge marks going up on the glass, these kits stop that from happening, I just never got around to installing them. I also have some touch up paint around here if I can still find it. I also think I have a few extra light bulbs for interior, etc. etc.
  • I just had the emissions tested last week for new tabs. It passed with flying colors, they are sending me the new tabs in the mail. So if you live in Washington that's a bonus for you as you will have till September 2015 till they are due up again. Also every 7 years WA state requires new license plates be issued, so if you buy this car don't panic when you see that the plates are different. I didn't want to pay an extra 20 bucks to keep those digits. Those new license plates are coming in the mail with the new tabs.
  • There are no holes or bracket for a front license plate, however, there are factory dimple areas where one would mount that bracket to install the license plate.
  • The day I took the photos it had been raining earlier so some of these pictures will show water, that's all it is, just rain, just wanted to clarify that.

Why does this car have a rebuilt title?
This car was in an accident back in January 2007 in which the insurance company totaled out the car. A friend of the person who owned the car bought it from the insurance company, fixed it, had Washington State Patrol inspect it (see photo) and issue the rebuilt title. He then drove it until October of 2008 when I purchased it. I have owned it ever since. The accident was fairly cut and dry, long story short, in the snow/ice the driver was going around clover style freeway on-ramp with the VDC turned off, he gassed it into a slide of which it did a 180 and headed backwards into a chain-link fence. The car went under the chain-link fence and was scratched like a 1000 cat claw marks from the back forward. The damage was all cosmetic (I personally would never have bought the car if the damage had been mechanical in any way). So a door needed to be replaced and the car needed to be repainted. It was repainted the same stock Silverstone grey, the rims were also done at the same time. I have all the pictures to prove the damage was only cosmetic. I wanted them when I bought the car. I would have posted them but Ebay only lets you post 24 pictures. If you are interested in seeing photos of the damage I can forward them to you. Also if you want to have verification of the story above, check the AutoCheck section of this auction and you will see it was in a collision with a fence on January 7th, 2007. Case #2680321

Why am I selling the car?
I am selling it because I don't have garage space to keep it anymore and I have too many vehicles. I originally purchased it to drive to Portland and back 2-3 times a month. I did that for a few solid years. I wanted something fun to drive for that commute. So most of the miles I have put on it while I have owned it are freeway miles. This car deserves to be driven and I just don't drive it much anymore.

Is there anything wrong with the car?
The car drives great, all gauges, lights, electronics, cruise control, etc. work flawlessly. Mechanically its in excellent shape too. I have never had a problem with it. It starts up and goes. There are no dents on the exterior panels and the interior is in excellent shape. The driver seat has some normal wear (see photo), there is a cigarette burn up top in the headliner near the driver window (from a previous owner). Some of the repainting is chipping in smaller and in hidden areas (see photos - there are a few more areas I don't have pictures for but all areas are pretty small), when it chips off it chips down to the same color so its not very noticeable. The repainting is very good overall but on the roof seals and windshield seals there is some slight over-spray on the rubber seals, like 1mm running down them. You can't really see it unless your looking for it, from 1-2 feet back its not noticeable. There are some birdshit stains on the top of the roof area (see photo), those should come out with some rubbing compound. The headlights are a bit hazy from age. The rear hatch needs a new hydraulic, it stays open on flat ground but on an incline it sometimes shuts by itself. The hatch button only works part of the time, however the keyless entry hatch opener button works all the time, I always use that to open the back hatch. This car is 11 years old so its not perfect like it just came off the showroom floor, but its very clean and in great shape. If I had a 5 car garage I would keep it without a doubt. To my knowledge none of the previous owners modded this car, with the low miles there is plenty of life left for someone to drive as a daily driver or modify into what they want to create with it. This car is very dependable and a blast to drive. Hoping it goes to someone that really enjoys it as its been a great car for me.

2014 Nissan Dayz Roox is the littlest high-roof van you ever did see

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Even average production cars from Japan often seem very conceptual to US eyes. Throw in typical, nonsensical-quasi-English-words name like "Dayz Roox" and you'd be forgiven for thinking this Nissan box on wheels was still a designer's dream. But the fact is that the Nissan Dayz is a model currently on sale, and this Roox version is the latest take on the micro-van, which is a popular segment in Japan.
In fact, this generation of Dayz is the first minicar that Nissan has developed completely in-house, and the thing has been selling astoundingly well in its first stint on the market (30k units in month one month, says Nissan). So it's unsurprising that the company is looking to expand the range with a model that is more fully featured.
The Roox (we have no clue as to where that name came from, or what it means) would appear to be a high-roof version of the three-cylinder Dayz minicar - in fact Nissan goes so far as to call it an "Impressive Super Height Wagon." Features like automatic sliding doors, Around View Monitor and UV-insulated glass are all luxuries in kei-class car. The press release also specifies that the Roox is tall enough to swallow a 27-inch bicycle.

Nissan design to show more Chinese influence

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Nissan is going to be leveraging the weight of the Chinese market by selling cars influenced by the People's Republic in other markets around the globe. The influence of Chinese design is further proof of the country's importance on a global scale. Nissan isn't the only manufacturer that's looking to leverage China's burgeoning design talent, as BMW, Volkswagen, and General Motors have all set up facilities.
In fact, VW and GM have both used Chinese talent to design cars, in the Passat and Buick LaCrosse, respectively. Nissan has already tested the waters with its Beijing studios, penning the Friend-Me Concept from this year's Shanghai Auto Show. Where GM and VW used their Shanghai-based studios as more consultancies than anything else, though, Nissan is aiming to have the Beijing studio design a global car.
According to Nissan's global design head, Shiro Nakamura, that's already happening. Nakamura told Reuters that Nissan is two years from launching a Chinese-designed global model that will see sales in both North America and Europe, in addition to its home market. While Nakamura wouldn't elaborate on what the new model's styling would entail, there's a focus on what the Chinese call daqi.

Nissan e-NV200 EV charges into Tokyo

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Nissan has already shown its e-NV200 in Detroit and Frankfurt in conceptual form, now its home market is getting an up-close look at the production all-electric compact van at the Tokyo Motor Show. While it doesn't sound like the e-NV200 will be making its way to the US anytime soon, it will go on sale on sale in Europe in the middle of next year and in Japan by early 2015.
The electric NV200 will be built in Barcelona, Spain, and while that EV-minded city has committed to using the van for public transportation, Nissan's hometown of Yokohama, Japan will also put the zero-emission vehicle to work in its public services fleet. Nissan has yet to reveal the production specs for the e-NV200 - including range - we do know that it will share much of its drivetrain with smaller Nissan Leaf. Check out the press release posted below for more information about the e-NV200 and Nissan's EV efforts in Yokohama.
