For sale, 2003 Mercury Marauder, I have owned this car for 7 years or so, a couple of years ago I ran into a concrete divider on the side of the road, the right front was damaged as a result. I had a Body shop write an Estimate to repair the damage, the total was $5062.00, unfortunately I had to take the money the Insurance company gave me for repairs, and use it for other financial obligations. Since the accident my plans were to save the money and repair the car, I no longer wish to spend the resources necessary to make this happen. The car is completely stock except for an K&N air filter, and larger rear tires ( 255/ 55/ 18). The interior is in excellent shape, no rips or tears or cracks, the stereo is stock as well. Despite the damage, the car drives very well, if you did't know it had been wrecked, you would not know it by driving the car. All maintenance has been done on the car, I would not hesitate to drive this car any place. The sale includes a trunk organizer, not the Marauder one, but a less expensive one, also a new rear tire, rear trim panel, and wheel. This Auction is a real No-reserve, not one of those fake ones where the seller has a high starting price which acts like a reserve. The winning bidder is required to make an $500.00 down payment within 6 days after the end of the auction, and full payment is required before shipping, the buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements. Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman
Wed, 17 Nov 2010Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.

Has the Mercury Marauder gotten better with age?
Fri, Oct 23 2015In the early 2000s Mercury desperately wanted to develop some edge for its brand – seemingly stuck between a quasi-premium, quasi-performance space in the Ford Universe. The Marauder is perhaps the most famous of the vehicles that resulted from those efforts, and is rapidly approaching Modern Classic status, today. Effectively a murdered out Grand Marquis with some updated trim pieces – what are company parts bins for, if not raiding? – the Marauder looked convincingly like a bad guy car. The 4.6-liter V8 under its hood that had been breathed on by engineers for a little more power, kicking out 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque from the factory. Not exactly Ferrari-baiting numbers, but it'd give your local cop's car a run for its money. Being a wild child of the last decade, of course our friends at MotorWeek had it on the program. What better way to test your mean-mugging muscle sedan than with John Davis' tanned and steady hands?
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
