This Grand Marquis runs and drives perfectly. The engine starts and runs smoothly and has plenty of power. The transmission shifts perfectly and the brakes, steering and suspension are tight and responsive. There are zero known mechanical or electrical problems. Everything works just like it should. I would not hesitate to take this car on a cross-country trip. The tires have excellent tread. The interior of this car is clean and in great condition. This car has never been smoked in. The leather, carpets and upholstery are clean and in superb condition. The interior shows no wear and it looks excellent and clean in every way. The exterior, paint and body are clean and in great shape. The body of this car is solid, clean and very nice. The paint is in very good shape with no major faults or flaws. There have been no known accidents. This car looks very good in every way. With only 88,000 miles, this Grand Marquis has 300,000 or so miles of life left. This is a loaded car that is economical, dependable and reliable with great features and options. This car is a 2004, not a brand new car. Please expect normal issues of wear and tear consistent with the age of the car. There is some wear on the front leather seat under the center armrest. There are a few brush-touched exterior nicks, nicks on the rear bumper, paint chips, scratches, dings, a few bubbles at the bottom of the driver's side rear door, etc. This is a 2004, not a 2015. This is a no reserve listing but I have a number in my head that would buy the car early. Please call me to discuss. You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this car home. NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

eBay Find of the Day: Craterface's '49 Mercury convertible from Grease
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Here is your chance to own your very own piece of greased lightning. Well, not the Greased Lighting, it's actually the black, flamed 1949 Mercury convertible that races against John Travolta in the classic 1978 movie Grease, and it's for auction on eBay Motors.
While it appeared in the film's exciting drag race in a Los Angeles storm drain, the hot rod was reportedly lost until last year, when the seller found it as a shell. He verified that it was the actual car with original builder, Eddie Paul, and sent the car for a complete restoration.
The auction includes original parts like the exhaust tips used in the movie and bent bumper from when it hit Travolta's car in the scene. The restorer recreated the scorpion stickers on the doors, razor hubcaps and license plate. He also installed a 1949 Mercury 255-cubic-inch (4.2-liter), flathead V8 and three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
