Wonderful car, but too small for 2 grandchildren. Solid car, shows well, drives better. New Nittos, new battery last year, cold air, 15K on brakes - rotors turned in front, replaced in rear. Just serviced, oil&filter (Mobil 1), new cabin filter. 15 year old car but I would drive anywhere. In fact drove to my lake house in WI last summer. 22 mpg on highway. Would consider partial trade, S10 pickup, ATV/UTV. Any questions please call Mike, 713-516-4099

Britain orders 10,000 ventilators from F1/McLaren/Mercedes/Ford/Rolls-Royce/Airbus
Mon, Mar 30 2020Paramedics and ambulance personnel get instructions from a command unit outside London's ExCel Centre arena, which is being turned into a 4,000 bed temporary hospital called NHS Nightingale to deal with coronavirus patients. The hospital is due to open Monday, March 30. / AP Â Â LONDON — Britain has ordered 10,000 ventilators from a consortium of leading aerospace, engineering and Formula One racing companies which will start production this week in response to an urgent government call for industry to help save lives. The 27-strong team, including Airbus, BAE Systems, Ford and Rolls-Royce, have joined forces to ramp up production of a ventilator made by Smiths Group, which supports those with complications from COVID-19. The consortium, which also includes seven Formula One teams including McLaren and Mercedes, home to World Champion Lewis Hamilton, said they had pulled staff off existing projects to meet the national need. Some 1,228 people have died from coronavirus in the United Kingdom and a senior health official said on Saturday the country would be doing well if it manages to keep the death toll below 20,000. "This consortium brings together some of the most innovative companies in the world," Dick Elsy, the head of the consortium, said in a statement. "I am confident this consortium has the skills and tools to make a difference and save lives." The United Kingdom, which initially only had 5,000 ventilators available in its National Health Service, has been trying to secure additional supplies after realising it needed 30,000 to cope with the peak of the outbreak. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is now in isolation in Downing Street after testing positive for coronavirus, made an emergency appeal earlier this month for manufacturers to retool their production lines and start making specialist health equipment including ventilators. Britain now has about 8,000 ventilators, with another 8,000 on order from international manufacturers that are due in coming weeks. Last week it placed an order for a newly-designed model from the vacuum cleaner company Dyson that will need to be approved by the health regulator. Mercedes part of a separate effort, too Separately on Monday a second consortium including Mercedes Formula One and other F1 teams said it had developed in less than a week a new version of a breathing aid that can help coronavirus patients.
Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer to leave in favor of AMG chief Tobias Moers
Sun, May 24 2020Aston Martin Chief Executive Andy Palmer is leaving the business as part of a management shake-up and will be replaced by Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Sunday. The luxury carmaker said in an emailed statement that it is reviewing its management team but declined to comment on Palmer's fate. Palmer and Germany's Daimler, which owns a 5% stake in Aston Martin and supplies the carmaker with Mercedes-AMG engines, also declined to comment. The Financial Times newspaper had reported earlier that the Aston Martin chief was going to leave as part of a shake-up of its leadership, with an official announcement expected on Tuesday. Palmer had not been informed of the upcoming announcement, the newspaper reported. Aston Martin, famed for being fictional secret agent James Bond's car of choice, has seen its share price plummet since floating in October 2018. The 107-year old British luxury carmaker earlier this month posted a deep first-quarter loss after sales dropped by almost a third due to the impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak. The company has been banking on its sport utility vehicle to drive sales in a new segment, and said production was on track. In January, dire conditions forced the company to bring in Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll who bought a roughly 20% stake for nearly 200 million pounds ($263 million), as the ailing carmaker sought to raise funds. The coronavirus pandemic and shutdowns caused by it have hit demand and forced factories around the world to suspend production, negatively impacting many industries, including car manufacturers. "We were obviously fairly significantly hit by COVID-19, starting with China in January but more clearly in what we saw as it came across towards Europe and the United States," Palmer told Reuters earlier in May. Brabus 600 brings a dose of black subtlety to Frankfurt
Tue, Sep 15 2015The latest AMG-fettled C-Class from Mercedes-Benz is a wonderful thing. It's turbocharged heart may displace just 4.0 liters, but that forced-induction powerhouse spits out 503 ponies and 516 pound-feet of torque. That's enough to satisfy even the most power-mad compact luxury sedan junkie, right? Apparently not, as the Brabus 600 now exists in this world, and it just debuted at the 2016 Frankfurt Motor Show. As its name suggests, the turbocharged wick has been increased up to 600 horsepower (or 591 if you're not metric) and 590 lb-ft of torque. Shuttled through all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission, that's enough gumption to push the Brabus 600 to 62 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds, which is a tenth quicker than the regular Mercedes-AMG C63 S sedan. Top speed nudges up from 180 mph to 186, or an even 300 kilometers per hour. Of course, this wouldn't be a proper Brabus if it didn't sport a bunch of body modifications, and the 600 doesn't disappoint. There are diffusers, spoilers, and wings galore in clear-coated carbon fiber with either a matte or shiny surface, depending on the buyer's preference. All of that looks pretty cool, but we're less smitten with the oversize fender outlets. Aluminum monoblock wheels measuring 20 inches in diameter and fitted with carbon accents round out the body kit. Inside, Brabus fits the 600 with a custom leather interior that can be tailored for each buyer. A new speedometer that goes to 340 kmh (211 mph), redesigned aluminum paddle shifters, and, of course, stainless steel scuff plates with a color-changing Brabus logo. Because who doesn't love subtlety? If you want to know more, there's a full press release down below. But what you really need to do is scroll through the image gallery above to take it all in.
