A very special Benz! Reluctantly selling a PRISTINE SL. Pampered, Dealer serviced and taken care of like a family member. I am listing this car for a friend who will be 70 soon and has decided it's time to part with this special car. Looking at this car you will not believe it is not new. The condition is absolute "perfection"! Inspections can be made by appointment and are encouraged & welcome. I have a lift so you can see every side of the car. Never had any accidents or paintwork. Zero curb rash on the wheels with new tires. The body and paint is flawless with no marks, scratches, dimples, or blemishes. This car was only driven on perfect days and then parked in it's heated garage, under it's car cover (which will be included). Never smoked in, interior is perfect and mark free. ALL EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS WORK PROPERLY. Please look over the window sticker (pictured) for all the options
The owner told me the "in service date" was Jan. 27, 2009 which means there is still FACTORY WARRANTY left. Any Mercedes owner will appreciate this. This is as close to a new SL as you will find. Bid with complete confidence as there are no disappointments with this vehicle. All the books, manuals and window sticker are present.
Continental bidders only please. Easy access if you have it shipped. Payment can be made in cash, check or wire transfer but the car and Title will not be released until funds clear my bank, no exceptions. If you have low feedback, bid retractions or negative feedback, your bids will not be accepted. This auction is taken seriously by me and I expect the same from you. Please direct any and all questions to me and I will answer promptly. If I can't answer myself, I will contact owner and get them immediately. Thank you for looking and best of luck bidding.

Race Recap: Singapore Grand Prix is about a safety car and submission
Mon, 23 Sep 2013The Singapore Formula One Grand Prix is the Monaco GP of the Orient - a weekend known more for its glamour and time-slot than on-track action, with a temporary circuit that punishes every mistake, usually terminally.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas got the best of Free Practice 1, opening the curtain on a possible resurgence of Silver Arrows performance. By the time qualifying was done, though, it was his teammate Nico Rosberg who lined up second on the grid, followed by Romain Grosjean with a beautiful performance in the Lotus, Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull, and Hamilton all the way back in fifth. Behind them were Felipe Massa outqualifying Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button getting the McLaren into eighth, Daniel Ricciardo with another good Q3 effort to get into ninth, and the shocker of Esteban Gutiérrez getting his Sauber into the top ten for the first time this year.
At the front of the pack was Sebastian Vettel. Again. But he was only ahead of Rosberg by a single tenth of a second...
Aston Martin signs Letter of Intent for technical partnership with AMG
Thu, 25 Jul 2013A little over two months ago came reports that Daimler and Aston Martin were in talks, again, about "supply and technical-cooperation agreements." The next step has been taken with Aston Martin announcing that it has signed a Letter of Intent that looks "towards a technical partnership" with Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and the two companies aiming to have definitive agreements done by year's end.
While it will get to use certain electric and electronic components from AMG, the true golden egg for the maker of the Vanquish will be the ability to develop a new line of "bespoke V8 powertrains" that will be fitted to "a new generation of models." In return for opening up the larder, Daimler will get a non-voting stake of up to five percent of Aston Martin.
Nothing else is being said about the tie-up for the moment, but there's a press release below with a few more details.
Mercedes working on new inline-six engines
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Mercedes-Benz will make a return to the inline-six-cylinder engine game, according to a report from the UK's AutoCar. It's not clear what's prompting the phasing out of the current array of V6s.
We'll see the first inline-six from Mercedes in next-generation E-Class, set to debut in 2016. Following that, it'll arrive as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the C-Class in 2017. What's particularly special about the new inline-six is its modular nature, which will allow Mercedes to eventually spinoff three- and four-cylinder options, with the three-pot arriving alongside the new inline-six.
In other news, AutoCar uncovered some details on the next C-Class AMG, which will ditch its excellent 6.2-liter, AMG V8 in favor of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, although we've already told you about that. What we didn't know at the time, though, was that the 4.0-liter would be paired first with a new, seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and offer all-wheel drive. AC also reports that a nine-speed Speedshift is in the works.
