For over fifty (50) years, Romana and Chuck Primus, their family and the staff at Whaling City Motors have been proudly serving southeastern Connecticut and southern Rhode Island, including the areas around Westerly, Stonington, Ledyard, Groton, New London, Waterford, Lyme, Saybrook, Essex, Westbrook, Colchester, Montville, Norwich, and Griswold. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Romana`s father, Sigmund Strochlitz, established Whaling City Ford in 1957 in downtown New London. In 1966, the dealership moved to its present location at Broad and Colman Streets. Mr. Strochlitz became a well known public figure because of his extensive activities on behalf of the local hospital and other civic and charitable agencies. His genuinely warm greeting on cable TV commercials, "Come in. I`d like to meet you," prompted people to come in to the dealership to say hello.? ? People also stopped him on the street and at the supermarket to introduce themselves.? ? Mr. Strochlitz loved to chat with customers, and he established Whaling City as a friendly, open, easy-going place of business that focuses on the needs of its customers. Chuck and Romana follow Mr. Strochlitz`s lead. They work to make Whaling City a place where customers enjoy their visits and get the highest level of automotive service. Over the years, Whaling City has sold more new Ford cars and trucks than any other dealership in the area and has won numerous awards for customer service. In March 2008, Whaling City expanded its operations by acquiring Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda from the former New London Motors.

We had the most amazing experience at Whaling City Ford even though we weren`t looking for a Ford or Mazda. We have been in the market for a Subaru Baja for over a year and to find one at a dealer is very difficult, but that was the only way we`d make the purchase. We drove almost an hour for the best, no pressure service and would recommend Jay Drouin to anyone whom is going to purchase from their inventory. Jay, wh... view moreom normally sells their Mazda`s didn`t blink at the opportunity to assist us with our used car purchase. He is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating - the entire team was great! If you are in the New London area this if defiantly the dealership for you. If your not in their area, but they have what you want in their inventory the trip there will be well worth it! Thanks for having the Baja that we wanted!!!

I`m VERY Happy!!

I got a great deal on the 2008 mazda 3. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I would recommended to buy a car from them. .
