We traded this car in about a month or so ago and we just got around to putting it on E-bay...The car is not for sale locally and will only be sold on E-bay hopefully..I keep SLs at my store and have never had a 500 motor 107 body car.. My guy at German Auto Repair said it came out before the 560 and he has seen 2 or 3 over the years..

I am not much on stories so here you go..The car spent the last bit of it's life in myrtle beach before I got it..We want to start off with this is the only SL I have in stock that the odometer does not work..If you want it repaired if you purchase it please let me know..My Mercedes shop charges 195.00 to put all new gears in the cluster..This is a common problem but since the car has had a broken odometer since 2010 (According to Carfax) and I didn't want to fool with it..We estimate the car probably has another 8000 miles on it now than what it says...The gentlemen took great care of the car mechanically and an okay job of the cosmetics...the top hasn't been up in awhile..We put the soft top up and found what 2 small tears along the top edges by the side windows...Everything else is great..The rear plastic is clear as can be..

The rear trunk has a section under the rubber spoiler that he seems to have spray canned a small scratch that was there...I would pull the spoiler and respray the area personally (it's not that bad though)...The front left edge of the fender has a small sanded down spot that looked like he was touching something up, But never sprayed it..the spot is about 3 inches round..There isn't any rust though..The car is virtually rust free,I know what to look for and even the rocker panels look great..The left rear tail light has a small crack in it currently, I will probably have it replaced it by the time the car is sold..

The interior is pretty nice shape with the exception of the the seat cushions on the bottom..All of the structure is there but the leather is cracked up..The rear seats that fold down are also cracked the same way...The rear of the front seats and the bolsters are in great shape..All of the chrome covers for the seat belts and seat adjustment on the sides are in great shape and they are all there..The dash has a small small crack near the bezel ..It is very small..Not worth replacing or putting a cover on it..All of the wood is near perfect nothing to replace..All of the carpet in the car and in the trunk is there and in pretty good shape..

The engine runs well and doesn't seem to need any attention currently..The A/C has been converted to 134 of course and it blows nice and cold..The transmission shifts smooth and does not clunk when you put it in and out of gears,The steering box is nice and tight and doesn't need attention..I have had to replace a few of those in the past and they can get costly..This one is fine though..The factory radio works when it wants to..If i bump it, It works for a bit until the car goes over a bumpy road again..I had the car over to German Auto repair here in Charleston and all he needed to do was a new fuel line and a fuel mixture adjustment..Overall the car is pretty comfortable to drive..shocks feel good and there aren't any strange noises while you drive...The tires are in great shape and have plenty of life left...The hard top is in great shape also..Also all of the tools and spare tire are in the trunk..

This car overall I would rate a 6.5 out of 10 partly because of the seats. The paint has a few blemishes but those are to be expected for the age of the car...The car has just been professionally wet sanded and polished out by me and most of the over time imperfections have been removed...I just want folks to realize that this is not one of my $15.000.00 plus cars, Yet it is still a very nice, rare driver quality car..The pictures are what the car looks like in person, Nothing has been retouched and my E bay record speaks for itself...

Thanks to all who read this and please call or E-mail with any questions..We are car guys also..Chris..

Also if you need a shipping quote please send me your zip code and I can get that for you rather quickly..

2015 Mercedes C-Class order guide leaked

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

We may not have an official starting price for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but as of right now, we can tell you about all the options for the eagerly anticipated new luxury sedan.
Benz Report has the entire order guide for the C-Class, with breakdowns from package pricing to how many different colors, wheel designs and lighting configurations will be available when the new model hits dealers later this year. As we mentioned in our initial review of the C-Class, there will be a pair of engine options, with the now familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6, which can be had in all-wheel drive, only.
From there, though, the available options are impressive. Much like it does on the current car, Mercedes is offering a pair of packages that sort of define the entire car. With the C300, buyers will have the choice of either a Sport or Luxury package in addition to the base trim, while C400 buyers are limited to the Sport model.

Paul di Resta returns to DTM with Mercedes

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Some drivers manage to make the transition from one form of motor racing into another, and some run into trouble. Take Paul di Resta, for example. The promising young Scottish driver dominated Formula 3 racing in Europe in 2006, then moved over to Germany's hugely competitive DTM touring car series where he finished second in 2008, third in 2009 and first in 2010. But things didn't go as smoothly for Paul - cousin to retired Indy champion Dario Franchitti - when he moved in to Formula One with the Force India team.
In three years on the grid, he failed to score a single podium finish. Little surprise, then, that Force India opted not to renew his contract for this season. Left without a ride, di Resta is now going back to DTM with longtime supporter Mercedes-Benz, testing the new C-Class touring car today in Portugal. It's good news for Mercedes, which is celebrating 120 years in motor racing this season and, with 2005 champion Gary Paffett also on board, can now count two former champions on its DTM roster.
We wouldn't count Paul out of F1 for good, though. When he won the DTM title four years ago, he was also moonlighting as Force India's test driver, and we wouldn't be surprised to see him pull similar double-duty with the Mercedes F1 team (or another Benz-powered outfit) this year before spring-boarding back into grand prix racing in the future. At 27 years old, he may not have been the youngest driver on the grid this year, but he's still got a good few years ahead of him.

VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes

Sun, 06 Jan 2013

The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.
