E320 Cdi on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:71000
Location:

I am parting with my 2005 Mercedes Benz E320 CDI. LAST ONES (05 AND 06) WITH THE BEST ENGINE/TRANNY COMBO, 6 CYL STRAIGHT AND 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION.
This car in in very nice condition in and out. The car has 71,250 miles and it is driven daily so the mileage will change by the end of the auction. My reserve is set at $19,500 which is the BIN price, though I think once someone bids on the car, the BIN will disappear.
There is a lot to be said about this car, it is in top shape mechanically and cosmetically speaking, and I'd rather sell it to someone who can come and inspect it in person, some one that can drive it and play with it for a couple of hrs. I have a thick binder full of records since new. I am the second owner of the car. I also have a STAR DAS/Xentry system that can lt go with the car for the right price.
The car has one accident in its history, from this past winter when my wife hit a snowbank. Everything was replaced with brand new Mercedes Benz genuine parts including a brand new bumper and belly pan, fog light and some bumper trim.
The car has new tires, continental extreme contact DWS with about 2K miles on them. New lower ball joints, diesel filter, oil change (mobil 1 and genuine MB filter) genuine air filter and cabin filters all about 1K miles ago. The brake system was bled at my local Ray Catena MB dealer.
The HP diesel pump had a leak when I purchased the car, I took the pump out of the car, cleaned and rebuilt it. Most of the repairs/ maintenance I have done, I have receipts and pictures or videos of. None of that "I have done this and that" but have no proof BS!!!

The car is equipped as follows:
-A/C single zone
-Front smart air bags
-Side curtain airbags plus rear door and front seat airbags.
-Artico seating surfaces (Mercedes leather imitation previously known as MB TEX)
-Front DYNAMIC seats
-Front Heated Seats
-Power Rear sunshade
-Manual rear door sunshades.
-COMAND 6 disc DVD changer with Navigation.
-Power Heated mirrors with antiglare

All tools and original spare are in the trunk. No broken or missing parts. All electronics work as they should. Transmission shifts nice and smooth. THIS CAR HAS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF POWER AND TORQUE.  This is not your everyday diesel.
It gets 650-700 mile range per tank of fuel.
Unless you drive like a granny, these cars don't get 40+ miles per gallon like some will try to make you believe, but I get 30-35 in mixed driving though my wife and I do 80% city driving.

I have tons of pictures and if you are interested in seeing anything specific please do let me know, I'll be more than happy to email them to you.

THERE ARE TWO PIECES OF WOOD TRIM THAT HAVE A HAIRLINE CRACK ON. ONE IS THE CENTER CONSOLE ASHTRAY AND THE OTHER ONE IS THE SMALL TRIM PIECE ABOVE THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE DASHBOARD.
ALSO, ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE, THE CHROME IS PEELING.

NORMAL CURB RASH (THE CAR CAME TO ME THAT WAY)

CAR IS PAID FOR, CLEAN TITLE IN HAND. NOT INTERESTED IN TIRE KICKERS OR LOWBALLERS.  THIS IS NOT A FIRE SALE. ALSO, NOT THAT MANY OF THESE WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE, YOU CAN LOOK AROUND ALL WEEKLONG AND FIND MAYBE A HANDFUL COUNTRY WIDE.

The car is hard to keep clean inside with little kids which is the reason for me to be selling. Other than that the car is a real pleasure to drive.

Ecclestone wonders if F1's upcoming turbo V6s should get augmented sound [w/videos]

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

While every team on the Formula One grid is worried about making a good showing in this year's championship at the same time as they develop a brand-new car for next year's championship, Bernie Ecclestone and F1 circuit promoters have a different concern: how next year's cars will sound. The current cars use 2.4-liter, naturally-aspirated V8s that can reach 18,000 revolutions per minute and employ dual exhaust, next year's engine formula calls for 1.4-liter turbocharged V6s that are capped at 15,000 rpm and are constrained to a single exhaust outlet. Ecclestone and promoters like Ron Walker believe the new engines sound like lawnmowers and that the less thrilling audio will keep people from coming to races. If Walker's Australian Grand Prix really is shelling out almost $57 million to hold the race, every ticket counts. As a fix, according to a report in Autoweek, Ecclestone "suggests that the only way to guarantee [a good sound] may be to artificially adjust the tone of the V6s."
However, neither the manufacturers nor the governing body of F1, the FIA, think there will be a problem. Ecclestone fears that if the manufacturers "don't get it right" they'll simply leave the sport, but the only three carmakers and engine builders left next year, Renault (its 2014 "power unit" is pictured), Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are so embedded that it would stretch belief to think they'd leave the table over an audio hiccup - if said hiccup even occurs. And frankly, these issues always precede changes to engine formulas, as they did when the formula switched from V10 to V8; fans, though, are probably less focused on the engines and more on the mandated standardization of the sport and the spec-series overtones that have come with it.
No one knows yet what next year's engines will sound like, but we've assembled a few videos below to help us all start guessing. The first is an engine check on an Eighties-era John Player Special Renault with a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, after that is Ayrton Senna qualifying in 1986 in the Lotus 98T that also had a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, then you'll find a short with a manufactured range of potential V6 engine notes, and then the sound of turbocharged V6 Indycars testing last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Any, or none of them, could be Formula One's future.

World Car Of The Year down to its final four

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. Overall winners will be presented at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz releases US-spec 2014 Sprinter details

Mon, 06 May 2013

Last week, Mercedes-Benz released the details for the updated 2013 Sprinter intended for global markets, but this week it has announced what changes are being made to the US-spec version of the van for the 2014 model year, including the Freightliner model. As expected, most of the changes made to the European model will be present on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when it goes on sale in the US, which is expected to be this fall.
The biggest difference between the Sprinter announced last week and the one headed to our shores is what is found under the hood. While European Sprinters will come with diesel engines and offer the availability of a supercharged four-cylinder gasoline or CNG engine, US Sprinters will still offer the 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC diesel. This year's Sprinter now comes standard with a new base engine, the 2.1-liter four-cylinder BlueTEC diesel. This smaller engine will produce 161 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and will be paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission; the optional 3.0 V6 puts out 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed auto.
Fuel economy for the new Sprinter has not been announced, but Mercedes-Benz has made numerous changes with the goal of improving efficiency. To this end you'll find a new, low-friction rear axle and the optimization for the generator, fuel pump and power steering pump.
