Hi all ,  i have had this vehicle for 5 years , bought it when it had 200k miles on it  for commuting  only as i do not fly. i have specifically used it to drive between seattle and florida and did 2 trips per year.

when i bought the vehicle i put it through a rigorous service so that it does not break down on me while commuting. Here is what i have done so far and is the reason why it still runs and wont be dying anytime soon.
1 had the engine completely serviced i.e changed the injector harness injectors  all engine sensors and everything that could ware out or down was changed. there have been NO problems up till this minute. oil changes have been done every 3k.
2 Had new shock put in at 220k
3 Had new lower and upper control arms and bushing put in  at 220 k
4 Had new fuel pump put in around the same time
5 Had new a/c compressor put in new pipes as well
6 Had new water pump put in
7 Had new cooling fan clutch put in
8 Had transmission fluid & filter replaced successfully (no issues with tranny whatsoever , (original tranny and smooth like butter).
9 Had Front wheel bearing changed due to engine weight , rear ones are still fine
10 Had the entire car painted  two years ago , Paint is still under warranty with ( maaco wpb )
11 Had the window re-tinted for sun protection
12 Put in a new matching shifter knob with burlwood matching the interior of car
13 Had a new M,a,f sensor installed at 230 k
14 Had new headlights put in a month ago
15 New radio antennae
16 Upgraded the interior floor from carpet to tan vinyl , very clean , nice.
17 Added extra sound proofing on floor area under seats , (double leaded sound shield 3/4 inch
18 Added extra sound proofing in engine area under hood so its super quiet inside
19 Changed the door weather stripping on driver side.

For those who know these cars  i think you will appreciate my maintenance routine here. for those who do not know the cars ,  they are very versatile as long as you look after them , the fact that it has this high mileage and looks better than a 204 mercedes  should say alot about how well it has been looked after. there are currently No issues with the car except for some tear on drivers seat due to use and a loose side mirror , central locking works but there are no sounds , may be just a burnt fuse in the module.

I am selling because i need to start towing equipment for work and had to get a truck . i do not need two cars otherwise i would keep it. these vehicle can run up to 400k if looked after , a friend of mine has one with 385 k on it and still running.
Engine is an inline six , aluminum
Gas tank is 15 gl and you get 340 miles on it.
seattle to fl is 3900 miles and my fuel  expenses usually run 700$
All miles are highway  miles
A/c and any other stuff most fear with high mileage work and have been serviced and or replaced so i give my word it will not die on you anytime soon. just look after it. thanks

Automakers' sound systems: Crank it, don't yank it

Thu, Jun 21 2018

Years ago, one of the first things most music lovers did after buying a new vehicle was drive to an aftermarket stereo shop to get the crappy stock components swapped for better gear. And you'd typically get not only better sound but also more bang (and boom) for your buck. But in the past decade or so, the overall quality of OEM audio has dramatically increased, while car electronics became more complex, removing the incentive for most new vehicle owners — and all but the most hardcore DIYer — to start from scratch. In 2010, I did a comparison of the average costs for OEM electronics vs. similar offerings from the aftermarket, and back then automakers' stock premium systems were by far the best bargain — and are probably an even better value now. The premium 14-speaker, 1,200-watt JBL system in the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon is a prime example of this trend. It's standard on the top two Limited and Touring trims and is available as a $680 audio upgrade on the XLE and XSE. I doubt you can even buy 14 speakers and 1,200 watts of amplification from the aftermarket for 700 bucks, much less have it all installed. And because the system is bundled with Toyota's Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and a surround-view camera, removing the head unit means you would likely lose these features. Another advantage of OEMs and their audio partners is they can design the car around the audio system. In the past, automakers would typically place speakers where convenient for packaging, not for optimal sound reproduction, and audio engineers were forced to compromise. But as with the Avalon's premium JBL audio system, this is starting to change. At a recent behind-the-scenes peek for media into the process of developing the system, Toyota and Harman engineers delved into the minutia of sealing the inner panel of the front doors to create an enclosure for 6x8-inch woofers, making space in the pillars for JBL horn tweeters and extensively measuring the acoustic properties of the interior to tune the sound to the space. I'm met some creative and skilled car stereo installers, but none with a degree in psychoacoustics. The system is also the first to feature Quantum Logic Surround that creates a multi-channel listening experience from two-channel sources. And it includes Harman's Clari-Fi processing that "rebuilds key details lost" in compressed audio formats used by streaming music services and MP3s.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots.
The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches. Yet the new design adds even more character with bodyside creases similar to the CLS-Class and some elements reminiscent of 2007's F700 Concept, including the massive grille and vertical LED taillights. Other key details include a large panoramic roof and the narrow exhaust outlets, but the large LED-trimmed headlights and the aggressive front fascia are probably the biggest departure from the current design. With these spy shots, we also catch a blurry shot of the interior, but we've seen a practically uncovered look at the new S-Class' cabin back in January.
Overall, the next S-Class sports an expressive and premium new look, but as far as all-new designs go, it's quite conservative - a move no doubt fitting for these lean financial times.
