1990 560 SEL Mercedes, blown engine, one owner since new, bought December 1990 from Long's Mercedes in Chattanooga, TN, never been wrecked, and was able to go 100 miles an hour the day it died. This vehicle could be used as a great source of parts for restoration of another Mercedes 560 SEL. The car has 5 good looking factory alloy wheels, good rubber on the tires, good leather on passenger side power seat, good leather in rear seats, cut in the perforated portion of drivers leather seat. Power seats work, "butt" heaters work on both front and rear seats, and all lights work . Power steering and power brakes work. As far as I know, except for the blown engine, everything is in functional order. I have keep up the oil changes on schedule, and never used anything but premium gas. In fact, The car HAS NO RUST,so all the body parts should be able to be used on another vehicle. If not for the engine, I had planned to get "antique tags"in December and drive it till it died. I cant afford to put in a new engine, or I would keep it.

Jay Leno drives the incredible Mercedes-Benz C111-II concept
Tue, Oct 20 2015You might think that Jay Leno has driven it all, but there are a few vehicles so rare that getting behind the wheel is a special experience, even for him. This week on Jay Leno's Garage, the comedian has one of those unique experiences by taking a ride in a 1970 Mercedes-Benz C111-II concept on loan from the Mercedes Classics Center. First unveiled in 1969, the C111 concept featured an in-vogue wedge shape, gullwing doors, and a mid-mounted three-rotor engine, and it seemed like the supercar of the future. This C111-II went even further in 1970 with tweaked styling and a four-rotor powerplant behind the driver. A V8 eventually replaced the experimental mill, but that switch is also part of the reason this one is still on the road today. Leno gets the full history about Mercedes' original plans for the C111 project, but obviously the real highlight is the rare drive in this vintage concept. He clearly relishes the experience of finally getting behind the wheel of this piece of auto history, one of the few automotive dreams he hadn't yet fulfilled.
Mercedes previews sleek concept for CES
Wed, Dec 31 2014It was over two months ago that we spotted a mysterious cloaked prototype said to belong to Mercedes, but we didn't know much about it at the time. And we still don't, but at least the German automaker has given us an idea of what to look forward to. Released on Facebook is this teaser image showing a silhouette of what appears to be that same concept car. The image is accompanied only by these few words: "The future will be bolder than you've ever imagined" and tagged by an accompanying #mbCES - which tells us only that, a) it's futuristic, which we already knew, and b) that it's coming to the CES, set to be held around a week from now in Las Vegas. The sleek one-box design appears to have some sort of appendage atop its roof – just the kind of periscope that might house, say, some cameras – leading to speculation that the idea behind this concept would be to showcase autonomous driving technology. We'd also be surprised if it weren't electric powered and – given the backdrop for its reveal – all the technology Daimler can throw at it. But one way or another, we'll be finding out soon, so watch this space. News Source: Mercedes-Benz via Facebook CES Mercedes-Benz Technology Concept Cars
