1986 Mercedes 560SEL LWB Sedan,
Fully Loaded, Reclining/Heated Rear Seat!

Gorgeous Senior Owned Mercedes Benz Flagship!

This week Canyon State Classics brings to market one of the best documented and best kept 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL Sedans on the Planet. This car is very special in several ways. It is a a low mileage car which has lived a very pampered life here in the dry Arizona desert shortly after being purchased in New Jersey. It also had a MSRP of over $60,000 when new and is fully loaded! This was THE big boy car to own in the 80's.

This car was bought brand new at Intercar Inc on August 29, 1986 by original owner R. Dascoli Bartholomew of New Jersey who brought it to Arizona in 2008. Included is a statement of origin detailing his ownership history on the car, which was titled in several of his business names during his ownership, which explains the car showing more owners than it actually had. This car was his pride and joy and always received the best care and service and by his own admission never saw rain or snow during his ownership. A few more owners in Florida and Washington took their turns babying the car till it made its way back here to Arizona. Don't miss your chance to own the nicest SEL offered on eBay in a long time!

The following is a list of options as this 560SEL is currently equipped:

-5.6L 8-Cyl Gasoline Engine

-4 Speed Automatic Transmission

-Ice Cold A/C

-Cruise Control

-Power Windows

-Power Door Locks

-Power Antenna

-Fog Lamps

-Heated/ Power Reclining Rear Seat

-Original Leather Interior

-Power Sunroof

-Original Becker Grand Prix Cassette

The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well maintained. The paint on the car is finished in its original color of Black and has a brilliant shine and not a ding to be found. All rock chips were professionally touched up by airbrush. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock and ALL ORIGINAL PAINT as any well cared for garaged lifelong car should be. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. Original windshield in chip free and has original stickers on it. The car looks as nice as the day it rolled off the Mercedes lot. It just had a full detail done at a cost of over $500 so this car looks spectacular! The car is accented by the original set of correct wheels which look great and wrapped in brand new Good Year radials.

The interior is in very nice original condition all around. Its life long garage storage is obvious at close examination of the crack and fade free interior. The dash and door panels are in very nice condition with zero cracks or damage to be noted anywhere other than two small cracks on shifter console wood. The palomino leather seats are all in very good condition and look almost new, which shows the quality of leather used in this car. All wood grain is in excellent condition with only minor cracking visible around the shifter. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The car also has Custom Mercedes floor mats. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the original Becker Grand Prix sound system. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, tools, and the spare tire and wheel. This car is all there and in excellent shape with all functions and accessories working as they should.

Mechanically, this SEL runs GREAT! I have owned nearly 20 80's and 90's era Mercedes vehicles, and this car blows the doors off all of them! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The 5.6L V8 is excellent. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The receipts show a lot of major work done in 2008 and again at Park Place LTD in 2012 which total over $5700just spent of fuel system including new fuel distributor, new injectors/ wiring, new intake hoses, new fuel pumps, new injector covers and a full tune up. Transmission service, rear axle service, brake fluid and coolant flush, new brakes, and new Good Year tires top off the recent service! The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph. The car was always regularly serviced and shows it in how flawless the car drives. The car is tight and right as any low mileage car should be with no current mechanical issues. This car is 100% fully documented with EVERY service receipt going back to the pre-delivery paperwork from 1986!

The car will include all original books, huge stack of receipts, original spare, jack, tools, all original keys, as well as the CUSTOM 560SEL floor mats!

All in all, this is THE cleanest and nicest SEL that I have had the privilege of being associated with, and is surely the NICEST in the Country! It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This Mercedes is a fantastic car for the price and includes every option offered in this car.

2015 Russian Grand Prix was full of crashes and DNFs

Mon, Oct 12 2015

Mercedes-AMG Petronas non-executive chairman Niki Lauda said of Lewis Hamilton's race-day domination this year, "The guy is driving like a god." Qualifying is another story, though – teammate Nico Rosberg taking pole proved that sometimes deities have to settle for second on the grid. Williams driver Valtteri Bottas surprised himself and his team with third place, half a second behind Hamilton but 0.05 sec ahead of the first Ferrari driven by Sebastian Vettel, while a mistake on Kimi Raikkonen's final flying lap left him in fifth, 0.4 sec behind Vettel. The Sahara Force India team had a good showing, with Nico Hulkenberg qualifying sixth just ahead of teammate Sergio Perez in seventh. It's the first time they've had both drivers in the top ten on the grid since the 2014 British Grand Prix. Romain Grosjean is leaving the stormy waters of Lotus at the end of the year for the unknown waters of Haas F1, but he made the shoestring operation look really good before Renault takes over by taking eighth place on the grid. Max Verstappen qualified well again with ninth in the Toro Rosso, ahead of the first Infiniti Red Bull Racing of Daniel Ricciardo in tenth. Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat lined up eleventh for his home grand prix, certainly a disappointment after locking up fifth place on the grid last year in a Toro Rosso. When Pirelli brought soft and supersoft compounds to Sochi, the company said it hoped this year's race would be better than last year's. We're sure this first-lap mishap isn't what they meant. Rosberg and Hamilton dragged it down to Turn 1, with Rosberg getting the inside line. Hamilton had to go wide at Turn 2 as Rosberg fought to hold position, but they left a mess in their wake: Hulkenberg spun going into Turn 2 and stopped in the middle of the track, and Marcus Ericsson in the Sauber – who'd started 16th – collided with him. Both cars were out of the race immediately, and the Safety Car came in. The Safety Car returned to the pits on Lap 3 Rosberg led the field, but just two laps later the German complained of a sticking throttle pedal. Two laps later he had to retire, unable to drive the car properly. That put Hamilton at the front, and we've seen that race a bunch of times before. He built a double-digit lead and never lost it.

Mercedes-Maybach SUV concept headed for Beijing reveal in April

Mon, Mar 19 2018

Mercedes-Benz has toyed with the idea of a Maybach SUV for at least 11 years. According to Autocar, we'll finally see a concept with production intent at the Beijing Motor Show next month, the luxury SUV slated for market release next year. As has been the rumor for at least six years, the Maybach people carrier will be based on a stretched version of the GLS, which moves to the company's new Modular High Architecture with the 2019 model. Back in 2007 when Maybach was its own brand and selling roughly 300 units per year, Car magazine reported that brand chiefs were interested in convertible versions of the Maybach 57 and 62 sedans, and an SUV. Maybach built a one-off concept based on the GL — the former GLS-Class — in 2009, but never took the idea further. The rumor popped up again in 2014, then in 2015, reaching not-if-but-when status early last year. A decade on, it's finally time to play the hand. Even though the super-luxe SUV would sit on a stretched version of what is already a three-row SUV, it's reasonable to expect the Maybach SUV will only get two rows. That would give designers plenty of extra room for seating luxury and amenities even beyond the S-Class Maybach. On the other hand, if Mercedes sticks to the rough Maybach playbook so far, a triple-row Maybach would be the only such SUV in the mid- to upper-six-figures. The S-Class 560 4Matic starts at $102,990, the S 560 4Matic Maybach starts at $168,600. Applying that spread to the $94,500 GLS 550, you'd land around $160,000 before adding the markup for a new generation. That kind of starter pricing might make a great tweener proposition. Mercedes could focus on a range of buyers who want to go upscale from the $125,300 AMG GLS 63, without needing to worry — yet — about challenging Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Power is said to come from some version of the company's oft-applied 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that puts out 462 horsepower in the S 560, but the 3.0-liter inline-six hybrid in the S 560e is under consideration. We'll know next month, when the lightly veiled concept takes the stand in China. The full-on production version should get an introduction at this year's L.A. Auto Show. Related Video:

Mercedes spotted testing hardcore AMG GT at the 'Ring

Thu, Mar 26 2015

Mercedes has showcased its new AMG GT in both base and S trims, it's rolled out the GT3 racing version and the Formula One safety car. But we're only beginning to see the extent of the variants that the German automaker is expected to spin off of its new sportscar. And here is the latest. Spied undergoing testing at the Nurburgring is what appears to be an even more performance-focused version of the Mercedes-AMG GT. It seems to be packing an upgraded aero kit – complete with front splitter and rear wing – as well as larger rolling stock. You can bet there's an even more potent version underhood of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that's already producing over 500 hp in the existing model. Whether Affalterbach deems it worthy of the Black Series label or not is another question, but what's clear is that AMG is gunning for the Porsche 911 GT3 with the performance model you see here – however disguised it may be from our prying eyes.
