1984 Mercedes Benz W123 chassis model 300D Turbo Diesel

NON Smoker and NO Pets vehicle, smells like new

The car was recently brought from out west and our housing situation has changed, we recently sold our house and have been reluctant to find another, we are leasing a townhouse with only two parking spaces, so our very beloved and a long time in searching for Benz has to go to a new home.

The previous owners, elderly couple in their late 80's which cared and drove this car for the past 20 plus years and purchased the car with a mere 30,000 miles. This 300 D has had 2 previous owners and comes with a clean car fax/ auto check.  The Mercedes log book indicates their devotion to keeping this car running like it should and all service records being performed at the Mercedes-Benz dealer.

Recent work preformed

  • brakes front and back ,
  • tires
  • exhaust
  • dash dimmer switch
  • dash illuminating bulbs
  • cruise control amplifier replaced.
  • Valves were recently adjusted.
  • Drive shaft center support and bearing was just replaced.
  • Headlights were replaced and adjusted the beam.
  • The sunroof switch was starting to hesitate and I had that replaced as well as
  • The rear right passenger window switch trim replaced, it was cracked.
  • The Fuel Hand primer pump was replaced and a new updated Bosch version was installed
  • The three way or spyder vacuum valves were replaced

Amazing condition for the year and awesome mileage, it has no cracks on the dash, original windshield, original tool kit, original Becker radio am/fm cassette (and it works great). The engine and transmission run great with no hesitations, cruises along great weather in the city or on the highway 70,75,80 MPH + with no issues, car rides great and handles awesome. Front end is tight and does not slop or have play.  I had it checked over at our local M-B diesel specialist and after taking for a spin , he was very impressed and amazed on how peppy the car was compared to other 300D Turbo's he drove. All interior is in almost like new condition, the seats feel great not sagging. Headliner is in excellent condition, carpet is clean. I do have a set of M-B floor mats that I will include with the car. Full spare, jack and original emergency kit included.

If the winning bidder chooses to fly in and drive the car home I will gladly pick up at Detroit Metro Airport (D.T.W.) at no charge. I will also fill up the fuel tank upon purchase. If you prefer to have the vehicle transported I can assist with helping preparing and reading the car for pick up, all transport fee's are the buyers responsibility. I will assist if needed to deliver the car within a reasonable radius but not before the car is paid for. For Canadian buyers, I will assist with delivering the car to the Windsor, Ontario border at the Ambassador bridge on the U.S.A side. If you need a 30 day temporary tag to get the car home one can be provided for the fee of one from Department of Transportation. I think they are $15. Please specify this so that I can have time to get one for you. Seller reserves the right to end auction early.

****If you need a picture of a certain area please send me a message and I will take any specific picture you request, the quality of the pics were distorted a bit as they were rather large before uploading them. *****

Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.

First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.

Mercedes-Petronas AMG W04 launched to little fanfare, lots of pressure [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

No indoor cocktail hour for the launch of the W04, the newest chassis built by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. Instead, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton spent a morning in photo and video sessions at the track in Jerez, Spain then paused a moment to introduce the car. The team will want the W04 to demonstrate the World Championship credentials of the team personnel and one of the team drivers, instead of the mostly humble performances we've seen over the past three years.
The W04 has been fitted with a new five-element front wing, pushrod front and pull-rod rear suspension, a second-generation Coanda exhaust and an "aggressively packaged" rear end. A small vanity panel, à la Infiniti Red Bull's RB9, covers the stepped nose.
Team principal Ross Brawn has called it "a clear step forward in design and detail sophistication," but as much as we truly respect Brawn's abilities and achievements, we heard him say similar things about the updated W03 last year before almost every race weekend from about mid-season. We really hope he's right this time, and so does the team's newest driver, Lewis Hamilton. We'll do our best to ignore the parallels of the Mercedes F1 team having signed a sponsorship deal with Blackberry, another company trying to find its way back to the top and still struggling, and just point you to the video below of the W04 in action.
