THIS CAR IS CLEAN AND DEPENDABLE. FLY IN DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. NEW TIRES, NEW BRAKES, NEWLY SERVICED TRANSMISSION AND FILTER. NEW PLUGS, DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND WIRES. THIS CAR RIDES AS GOOD AS A NEW CAR, HANDLES GREAT NO SHAKES AND SHIMMIES AND  SHE GETS  AROUND 22 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY 17 CITY, SET THE CRUISE AND GO ANYWHERE.  I HAVE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL WITH MERCEDES DEALER SERVICED FOR FIRST 100,000 MILES.  THE ORIGINAL CONVERTIBLE TOP IS NICE AND BLACK AND NO TEARS. THE POWER TOP WORKS GREAT WITH ALL NEW HYDROLIC CYLINDERS REPLACED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO BY PREVIOUS OWNERS. THE PAINT IS SUPER FOR AGE, NO DENTS, NO ROCK PECKS AND STILL NICE AND SHINY.  I HAVE KEPT THE CAR IN ENCLOSED AIR CONDITIONED SHOP SINCE I HAVE HAD IT.  THE CARPET IS CLEAN AS NEW, THE LEATHER SEATS ARE PRISTINE, NO CRACKS OR WEATHERING SIGNS. CAR HAS NOT BEEN SMOKED IN. .  . I CAN'T THINK OF A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, AND AFTER DRIVING IT THIS WEEKEND I REALLY HATE TO SELL IT , BUT SOME TOYS MUST GO. NOTE: I HIT MY POWER ANTENNA ON SHOP DOOR AND BROKE IT THIS WEEKEND, I WILL HAVE POWER ANTENNA REPAIRED WITH NEW MOTOR AND ANTENNA BEFORE IT LEAVES.  THIS IS A CLEAN LITTLE COLLECTIBLE HONEY, FIRST YEAR OF THE SMALLER SL BODY STYLE AND SHOULD BE VERY COLLECTIBLE IN THE FUTURE.

Brabus to storm Geneva with 800-hp version of Mercedes SL65 AMG

At no point during our recent drive of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG did we ever think, "You know, this thing sure is slow." After all, Merc's range-topping SL comes fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 capable of sending 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. But just in case you're still all "meh" about what the SL65 throws down, Brabus will gladly come to your rescue with this, the 800 Roadster.
As its name suggests, the 800 Roadster ups the V12's power figures to 800 horsepower and - wait for it - 1,047 pound-feet of torque. Don't get too excited, though - that torque number has been electronically limited to a measly 811 lb-ft since, you know, the transmission would probably explode if you tried to put the full force through it. Nevertheless, these represent increases of 79 hp and 73 lb-ft over the standard SL65, and that means the 800 Roadster can shoot to 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds - two-tenths of a second quicker than the Merc its based on. More impressively, hitting 124 mph takes just under 10 seconds, and the droptop will finally top out at an electronically limited - limited! - 217 mph. Holy smokes.
To manage all of that speed, Brabus has engineered a special carbon fiber aero kit that reduces lift, and a unique control module for the SL65's active body control suspension lowers the ride height by one full inch. The 800 Roadster rides on new 20-inch wheels, and a unique limited-slip rear differential was added, featuring a 40 percent locking rate that further enhances performance when you're attempting to control the beast at its limits. Interior upgrades include new leather and alcantara surfaces throughout the cabin, including a leather-clad trunk.

Mercedes-AMG considering turbo fours, hybrid sixes for future performance sedans

Think of the letters AMG and you'll probably end up picturing a performance sedan with a big V8. Such has become, after all, the Mercedes turning division's calling card. But with the introduction of its 2.0-liter turbo four, AMG is working at turning that notion on its head.
The highly potent engine produces 355 horsepower and is presently installed in the A45 AMG hatchback, CLA45 AMG sedan and GLA45 AMG crossover, giving Benz's smallest family a full range of performance models. But that might not be the full extent of the high-strung four-pot's use.
Speaking with AMG boss Tobias Moers, Britain's What Car? magazine reports that Affalterbach is considering slotting the same engine into larger models, particularly performance sedans like the C-Class. As we recently reported, Mercedes is already preparing to up the power from the turbo V6 in the C400 to slot a C450 Sport in below the C63 AMG. The C450 is expected to offer around 367 horsepower where the CLA45 AMG et al pack 355, but the lighter weight of the four-cylinder engine would likely offset the truancy of those extra dozen horses. Of course such a prospect would be much further down the pipeline than the C450 Sport which is expected to arrive much sooner.

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.
