1985 Mercedes 300d Turbo Diesel on 2040-cars
Turlock, California, United States
|
This car is a real gem with only 66,535 miles. Well maintained and cared for with real leather interior. Seats and interior are in mint condition, no cracking or tears on the leather. (crack free wood grain interior trim.) The car has no visible rust or any known body repairs. No accidents, nor odometer tampering, carfax is available or do your own car history reporting check. All the accessories are in working order including the original Becker radio. The air conditioner blows ice cold. The a/c was an overhaul and has a new compressor. Power antenna, vacuum locks ,power windows, and power sunroof work. Under the hood a new radiator, motor mounts, oil cover gasket, and water pump. Last week did an engine oil and transmission fluid change out. Owned by a non-smoker. No valve cover blowby or major leaks. It has the reliable 617 series 5 cylinder inline turbo diesel engine and 123 body style. If you want a heavy made steel car that runs great and has a reputation of running a long long time this is one of them that was produced. Read about these cars for yourself on the net. I have two of them and my daily driver is a 84' 300D turbo that has over 255K miles and it still runs strong and A/C works. More pictures can be sent to you. This car does not have a computer that runs all the systems just basic diesel operation with vacuum controls. If one was neglected or beat up that's the only reason to steer clear of one, this one has had neither done to it. If you can do the basic fluid checks and even your own oil changes, you can own one of these classics. Previous seller was a 28 yr experienced mercedes mechanic and mechanical engineer, he took good care of this one. I bought it for $6600 on ebay Jan 2014 would like to keep it, but have to sell. Mercedes celebrates with World Championship edition SL63
Mon, Dec 1 2014Mercedes has plenty to be celebrating at the moment, having just won the Formula One World Championship in spectacular style – taking the constructors' title by a huge margin and the top two slots in the drivers' standings as well. It almost goes without saying that the German outfit would celebrate with a special edition, and that's just what we're looking at here. Presented at a special celebratory Stars & Cars event in Stuttgart in front of 50,000 jubilant fans, the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector's Edition is based on Benz's twin-turbo V8-powered roadster but with some choice upgrades. Two versions will be offered: one in black with gold accents (displayed with the Silverstone circuit layout), the other in white with silver accents (and the Hockenheim map). One was designed by Lewis Hamilton, the other by Nico Rosberg. We'll let you sort out which one was done by which, but either way there'll only be 19 examples, each dedicated to a different grand prix circuit in the championship which Mercedes positively dominated – winning all but three, scoring eleven one-two finishes and landing on the podium at each and every one.
Mercedes previews GLC crossover coupe concept for Shanghai
Fri, Apr 3 2015Say what you will about slant-backed crossover coupes: if the industry has learned anything from BMW and its X6, it's that they're popular... and profitable. Little wonder, then, that Mercedes followed suit with the release of the GLE Coupe. And now it appears set to follow the lead set by the BMW X4 as well with a smaller GLC Coupe... at least, that is, in concept form. Previewed in this latest teaser rendering is the Concept GLC Coupe, a design study which Mercedes is set to present at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month. The statement that accompanies it (which you can read below) doesn't tell us much, except to say that it is "near-production-standard" – which is to say that it stands a strong chance of reaching showrooms. As it is, the GLC with a conventional roofline is set to take the place of the GLK in Benz's expanding crossover lineup. The emergence of this concept ought to preview that new model's styling, regardless of how steeply its roofline tapers off towards the back. The Shanghai show is, incidentally, the same venue Mercedes originally floated the idea of its smallest crossover with the presentation of the Concept GLA two years ago. And as we all know, that subsequently entered production – in a form closely following that of the concept. So we wouldn't be surprised to see a GLC Coupe emerge in close proximity to its more conventional counterpart (maybe even before), heavily influenced by the show car we'll see later this month.
