Not mint due to a few scratches but nothing past the gelcoat and frequently commented on favorably by passers by. If I had $100 for everyone of the aforementioned compliments received, I could by this car for its original price of $36,210. Heater blows hot; air conditioner does not blow cold."

I bought this car in California for $18,500 in 2006/7 then with 79,420 miles on the odometer and have loved and cared for it with regular servicing (oil changes every 3,000 miles and all else that goes into the maintenance routine I was taught by my now 88 year old father, an old-school mechanical engineer.  I've driven it around my town and to Maine and back twice.  I have recently decided to downsize to one car and my bicycle, the latter which I use most often; given my proximity to downtown Main Street, located a mile away from home. The photos, taken during the past couple days, speak for themselves.  The car is in fine condition for its age; not mint but nice enough to frequently receive compliments in parking lots, garages, stop signs and traffic lights all over town.   TERMS: This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle.  Shipping and handling is up to the winning bidder.  Payment must be made via PayPal.   My hope is that he or she who buys this car will appreciate it and maintain it as well as I have.

Mercedes teases a new Maybach concept convertible

Wed, Aug 9 2017

Once again, Mercedes is taking a Vision concept to the Pebble Beach Concours this year. To start generating excitement, the company has released a teaser trailer for the car, and effectively no other information. But we think we've pieced together what the car is. Let's look at the video first. It shows a voluptuous blue body. It's all curves and clean lines inside and out. It also has an impressively prodigious prow with a proud three-pointed star at the front. The interior is all white with very little detail, and in addition to chrome, there are many copper trim pieces. There appear to be only two seats, too. Toward the end, we see a strip of copper trim on the outside as well, and just before the shot changes, we can see a bit of white interior that indicates this is a convertible. So we know this is an elegant, luxurious roadster. Is there anything else we can discern? Well, it seems Mercedes may have accidentally revealed the name of the car, or at least what it's based on. The video's file name includes the words "Maybach six." That happens to be the name of last year's Mercedes-Maybach coupe concept. On top of that, there's a striking resemblance between the long, flowing hoods of both cars. So it seems like a pretty safe bet that Mercedes will show the convertible version of that car, which was 18 feet long, and produced 738 horsepower from a quartet of electric motors. We'll find out if we're right when the car is revealed at Pebble Beach. Mercedes previews sleek concept for CES

Wed, Dec 31 2014

It was over two months ago that we spotted a mysterious cloaked prototype said to belong to Mercedes, but we didn't know much about it at the time. And we still don't, but at least the German automaker has given us an idea of what to look forward to. Released on Facebook is this teaser image showing a silhouette of what appears to be that same concept car. The image is accompanied only by these few words: "The future will be bolder than you've ever imagined" and tagged by an accompanying #mbCES - which tells us only that, a) it's futuristic, which we already knew, and b) that it's coming to the CES, set to be held around a week from now in Las Vegas. The sleek one-box design appears to have some sort of appendage atop its roof – just the kind of periscope that might house, say, some cameras – leading to speculation that the idea behind this concept would be to showcase autonomous driving technology. We'd also be surprised if it weren't electric powered and – given the backdrop for its reveal – all the technology Daimler can throw at it. But one way or another, we'll be finding out soon, so watch this space. News Source: Mercedes-Benz via Facebook CES Mercedes-Benz Technology Concept Cars

UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.
Let this be a warning...
