One of a kind, very unique, RESTORED 1989 Mercedes 190E 2.6L

THIS WAS ONE OWNER CAR WHEN I PURCHASED IT 2 YEARS AGO.

People asked me why I chose the 2.6L automatic as the base for this project and not the 2.3L 16V model – the answer is simple – I wanted a reliable, easy to maintain, easy to drive, great handling car with plenty of torgue for city driving, good power and awesome looks! Although the 2.3L 16V has a racing history behind it and is a great car for the track, it lacks torgue for everyday driving and is expensive to maintain with it's costly cosworth engine.

Mercedes-AMG not making more Black Series models... for now

Tue, Mar 10 2015

There was a time when AMG only made one version of any given vehicle, but those times are long behind us. These days it's cranking out entry-level AMG Sport models, the main AMG line and the more potent S-models. But what about the Black Series? According to Autocar, which spoke with Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers at the Geneva Motor Show last week, the Black Series is still in the cards... just not for the short term. Moers said AMG is currently focused more on "making the cars more sophisticated, more precise" than about making headline-grabbing horsepower and torque figures. "The Black Series name... will be necessary in the future, but for now the base cars are so good. The Black Series must be at the top of the hill, but I don't know when or on what model yet." The nearest possible candidate could be the more hardcore version of the Mercedes-AMG GT that's in the works to take on the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3, but Moers didn't say whether that model would warrant reviving the Black Series label. AMG previously applied the Black Series designation to extreme high-performance versions of the SLK, SL, SLS, CLK and C-Class coupe, carrying upgraded engines, suspension, rolling stock, brakes and aerodynamics to make them more track-focused. 2020 Colorado Winter Driver's Notes | Behind the Wheel S02 // E12

Mon, Apr 6 2020

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 I’ve had bad luck with SUVs this winter. Especially performance ones. First, I got a 2019 Range Rover Sport SVR delivered on summers right as two feet of snow fell, rendering it undriveable. Then, coronavirus cancelled Easter Jeep Safari as well as my trip out to Moab in the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Diesel. Thankfully, when this 469 horsepower luxury mall crawler was dropped off, the sun shone down and the snow (mostly) held off.  The first thing that I noticed was there were a few blank buttons throughout the cabin, something that you may see in an entry model vehicle, but IÂ’m not accustomed to seeing in an AMG. Not a great look for a vehicle with an $80,000 price tag. Thankfully that was where the disappointment ended. As soon as you press the start button, the engine fires up and the exhaust note is incredible. Hopping on the highway ramp near my house, I floored it, and the biturbo V8 had me pressed back into the driver's seat, and this wasnÂ’t even the S version that our staff drove last year. Inside and out, the GLC 63 was everything youÂ’d expect from Mercedes. The interior was immaculate, and while the infotainment wheel and touch pad may take some getting used to for someone who isnÂ’t familiar, by now I have it down so that I can use it without looking. And while the V8 left me smiling ear to ear, I was most impressed by the amount of useable interior space there is. I happened to be moving at the time of this review and while all of my large furniture was shoved into the back of a moving van, I was able to fit almost everything else in the back of the GLC. 2019 and 2020 Fiat 500X Trekking ItÂ’s hard to say goodbye to an AMG and then turn around and be excited when a Fiat 500X pulls in your driveway (I know, I know, automotive journalist problems). That being said, when the red Fiat pulled up, I found myself admiring it. I am very familiar with the 500X. Back in 2016 Autoblog had one for a year as our long term test vehicle. I drove that car everywhere, multiple trips up north in Michigan, and even tracked it at Gingerman Raceway for a few laps before the brakes started smoking.  The 2019 model I had in my driveway and the 2020 model I drove in the snow up in the mountains feel very similar to that car. The interior is stylish and surprisingly roomy. The greenhouse is airy.

Mercedes goes boating again with G63 AMG-inspired Cigarette

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

Cigarette Racing has another Mercedes-Benz AMG-themed boat headed out to sea. After The SLS AMG-inspired 46-foot Rough Rider in 2010 and the C63 AMG Black Series-inspired 50-foot Marauder in 2012, this year's Miami Boat Show will introduce the 42-foot Huntress, theme provided by the G63 AMG.
The latest Cigarette homage is less overly racy than the ones before, befitting a watercraft modeled off a performance SUV, but don't let the looks fool: there are five Mercury Racing Verado 350SCi outboard engines, each one of them packing a supercharged inline six-cylinder with, natch, 350 horsepower. Those 1,750 horses will be good for 78 miles per hour when you've got some saltwater underneath you.
If you're in South Florida this week, Booth B-23 at the Miami Convention Center could be your best place to see it. Otherwise, like the 536-hp G63 AMG, it could be hard to catch. There's a press release with more information below.
