This is my 3rd Miata. This is the best running one I have ever had. I had a 2002 and it was rather wimpy in 6th gear and pinged during shifting in the mountains. This 2004 I am selling is like a little rocket. Even when shifting to 6th gear it takes off. No lull in any gear.

I am selling this because my elderly mother no longer drives. She has a sedan that my wife and I drive her around in. Or, we use my wife's Prius. So, the Miata just sits in my garage. Never left outside.

I am in central California. My Miata is never exposed to a salty ocean environment, or road salted snow mountain conditions.

The oil and filter was changed last week. Always used Mobil One synthetic oil.

The upgrades listed below not only dramatically improve performance, but also make the car look great.  They have taken the Miata to another level. This Miata is a serious sports car.
The upgrades include:

1. Eibach-KIT PERFORMANCE SPRINGS (SET OF 4 SPRINGS)
Gives Miata a Beefy look with the factory body widening kit. Hides gap between wheel well and tire. Improves handling and ads fun. See this link for example. http://performance-suspension.eibach.com/products/mazda/miata/shinsen/2003/18l1839cc-l4/pro-kit-performance-springs-set-of-4-springs/5535.140

2. RoadsterSport 3 Polished Stainless Steel Miata Exhaust Muffler, Improved Exhaust from original with great roadster purring sound. Not loud or obnoxious. See this link for example. http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/11-1004.html
Adds engine zip along with the added cold air intake upgrade listed below.

3. AEM 22-482P Cold Air Intake System.  See this link for example. http://www.frsport.com/AEM-22-482P-Short-Ram-Intake-System-99-05-Mazda-Miata-_p_26626.html

4. ICW Racing 17" Rims. Came with 16's.
The 17's look great and hug the road much better than the 16's.
Please look at side body pictures of the tire against the wheel well.
Notice the No gap. That is because of the upgraded performance springs
and the 17's.  Takes away any notion that the Miata has a wimpy
look.

Come and drive it. Compare it to others. You will be surprised.

2014 Mazda6 to start at $20,880*

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

We got our very first taste of the impressive 2014 Mazda6 back in October, and had more than a few good things to say about the midsizer. One piece of information that was conspicuous by its absence, however, was a sticker price.
Now, with zero pomp and circumstance (not even a press release as of this writing), Mazda has dropped what looks to be official pricing for the 6 on its consumer website.
$20,880 is the asking price for the base Mazda6 Sport with a manual transmission (plus $795 worth of destination charges, for a total of $21,675). Alaska residents will need to cough up $840 for destination. The loaded-up Mazda6 Grand Touring shown on the site will set you back a total of $30,290 (MSRP of $29,495), but it isn't clear if that's the starting price of the Grand Touring trim. Mazda is taking orders for the new 6 right now, and the cars will be available on January 2, 2013.

2018 Mazda CX-5 teased ahead of LA reveal

Thu, Oct 27 2016

While it will make its full debut at the LA Auto Show, Mazda released a teaser of the new CX-5 ahead of time. Like so many other teasers, the car is obscured by low light, but we can make out some significant details. For one, it appears that Mazda has toned down the muscular curves of the current CX-5's front fenders. In fact, many of the crisp creases of the current model have been softened on this new version. Below you can see a brighter version of the teaser alongside an image of the current model. The greenhouse also appears lower and longer than the current model, and it's highlighted by a chrome strip running from the A-pillar back to the roof. Where it terminates also seems to suggest this CX-5 could have the "floating" roof look that's so popular now. However, when comparing the teaser image with recent spy photos, it could just as easily have a more traditional rear pillar and roof design. Those same spy photos also reveal that the new CX-5 will get a more aggressive, concave grille with a mesh insert. This image is all Mazda has revealed of the new crossover so far, so we'll have to wait until the reveal on November 16 for all the details. Related Video:

Laguna Seca getting another awkward name with WeatherTech sponsorship

Mon, Mar 12 2018

According to the Monterey Herald, and also reported by Autoweek, Laguna Seca is getting a new title sponsor and as a result, a new name. The track is currently known by the official name of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, a less-than-elegant name that goes away soon because Mazda is ending its sponsorship on March 31. The newspaper reports that the new sponsor is WeatherTech, and the new name, arriving on April 1, adds a word: WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca. We're not sure why it can't simply be known as Laguna Seca, since that's the name that sticks after the sponsors disappear. And we don't know why adding a word is better. Why would you add syllables to say and letters to type (insert lazy writer joke here)? It seems that those in charge of the track are happy with the deal, though. The Monterey Herald reports the deal is for five years of sponsorship at a cost of $5 million and that it's about two-thirds of what Mazda was paying. But the newspaper also reports that the track won't be providing the same track access that Mazda needed, and it may attract other automakers to the track when the track's name isn't partly that of a competitor.
