See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Just putting the negatives out there: Being a 13 year old car, there are exterior nicks, but nothing substantial. The pictures will show flaws to the best of my photographic abilities. The previous owner ran into something that pushed about a 6in diameter dent in the lip of the hood just above the bumper on the passenger side. I pulled it out some, and it's not especially noticeable. Depending on the buyer's preference, I may get a mobile body shop to repair it before delivery, up to the buyer, and I will split that cost. The top on the driver's side, has a tear about 3 in x 3 in. I sealed it from the inside, and will sew on a black Toyota cloth patch on the outside for esthetics (not the one in the picture. Will be one that covers the entire area. The interior has a couple of half inch in diameter cigarette holes on the seats from PO, not all that noticeable, but there. Otherwise the interior is in very good condition (see pics). See description below for the good stuff!"

This is a 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder in overall very good condition.  It is in excellent condition mechanically.  See the flaws listed in the Condition Description above.

The Good Stuff is it had an engine replacement about 12,000 miles ago (see invoice copy in pics.  I will send a better copy to the winning bidder) (The mechanics felt the cause was negligence by the previous owners, but who knows).  There are no leaks, AC is great, glass defrosted rear window, power locks, windows and mirrors, CD player (single). It runs great, no clutch issues.  I change the oil and other fluids myself.  I really do like this car, but I have it and a 2001 Jeep Wrangler.  I need to get a practical vehicle.

The MR2 has very limited storage space.  If you aren't familiar with the vehicle, check out www.spyderchat.com to learn everything you want to know.  I won't go into all the details about it's handling ability, fuel economy, etc.  That info is readily available on the link I provided and a lot of other places on the net.  It is a LOT of fun to drive!  The wheels are after market, old and need refinishing.  I bought them off Craigslist on the cheap just to have something because the ones that were there when I got the car just had to go.  They are 17s with 205s on the front and 225s on the rear.  The overall paint polishes up pretty well, but a 13 year old car has paint dings.  Buy with confidence.  I describe things accurately, and there are no surprises.

A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due at the auction's end (within 48 hours).  The remainder is to be paid by cash, certified check drawn on US bank or bank to bank wire transfer within 7 days of auction's end.  I will release the clear title immediately for cash, or mail the title to you when the certified check clears or wire transfer has completed.

NOTE:  The engine replacement invoice shows only the labor cost associated with the replacement ($1,430.33), as an aftermarket warranty company provided the motor (LKQ remanufactured...this was quite a battle between the garage and the warranty company since they wanted to just send a used replacement, and the garage fought for a remanufactured and won.  Great garage! The list price of the engine on the warranty co.'s paperwork was just over $2,700.00, but they paid for that I'm happy to say.

Maserati highlights its racing heritage with MC Edition models

Fri, Feb 4 2022

Maserati is slowly renewing ties with its illustrious racing heritage. After returning to the supercar segment with the MC20, which should hit the track sooner or later, it released a competition-inspired version of the Ghibli, the Quattroporte, and the Levante called MC Edition. Fittingly, every MC Edition model starts life with a V8 engine under the hood. Buyers can select two colors called Giallo Corse and Blu Vittoria, respectively, names that mean Racing Yellow and Victory Blue in Italian. Maserati explained that yellow and blue are the colors of Modena, its home town. MC Edition cars also get specific exterior emblems, Piano Black trim, and 21- or 22-inch gloss black wheels depending on the model; the Levante rides on 22s while the sedans ship with 21s. Blue brake calipers add a finishing touch to the look. Inside, every MC Edition receives a sunroof, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and the very un-racing-like Driver Assistance package. The interior is just as striking as the exterior: Maserati added black leather upholstery with denim inserts, yellow and blue stitching, plus a number of blue carbon fiber accents on the dashboard, the center console, and the door panels. "MC Edition" is embroidered into the headrests. Nothing suggests that the racing inspiration permeates the powertrain; don't expect to pop the hood and be greeted by Weber carburetors with trumpets. Maserati hasn't published technical specifications, but the only V8 available in the Ghibli is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged unit fitted to the Trofeo model and tuned to develop 580 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The Levante and the Quattroporte are offered with this engine as well. It develops 590 horsepower in the American-spec Levante, though European models settle for the Ghibli's output. Maserati will begin shipping MC Edition cars to customers in Europe, in Asia, and in China in February 2022. Pricing information hasn't been announced yet. And, there's no word yet on whether the special-edition models will be sold in the United States as well. Related Video This content is hosted by a third party. Leno profiles Pebble Beach-winning 1956 Maserati

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We enjoy it when Jay Leno and his web show, Jay Leno's Garage, take a look at new, modern cars. When the comedian gets his paws on a proper classic, though, he's at his best. Leno is able to display an impressive breadth of knowledge about even obscure models, and that's no different here, as the winner of its class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano rolls into the garage.
Part of the Maserati A6 family, this A6G is one of just 21 cars produced with coachwork by Carrozzeria Allemano, making it one of the rarer cars to grace Jay Leno's Garage. It's powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six, and, as Leno points out, is far more of a road car than the race-oriented Maseratis of the day.
Scroll down for the latest episode from Jay Leno's Garage on this fully restored 1956 Maserati.

2014 Quattroporte kicks off 50th anniversary for Maserati with new V6, AWD

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

It's not that often that we get to talk about a new Maserati model, but that's all about to change. The Italian automaker is using the 2014 Quattroporte to begin a lineup expansion that will soon grow to no fewer than five models. Entering its sixth generation, the Quattroporte has been completely redesigned, and is also adding a new V6 engine and all-wheel drive.
Pictures of the car were released last year and we've even had the chance to drive the car in France already, but we finally got to see both the 410-horsepower V6 and 530-hp V8 versions of the car at its debut at the Detroit Auto Show. The new Quattroporte is 100-percent Maserati with its svelte-ye-aggressive styling, but it adds more of a mainstream look to better compete with the growing number of high-end luxury sedans. Not all of the Autoblog staff consider it an improvement, but it doesn't stray too far from the Italian styling of the last model.
The interior has also been brought up to date with modern infotainment technology and improved luxury courtesy of a longer wheelbase bringing more space to rear-seat occupants. While the V8 we drove had a bench rear seat and oddly retro-modern wheels, the car on display had more conventional wheels and the two-passenger rear seat bucket seat layout.
