Ok a bit about this car and me. This 1997 eclipse I bought as a project car with a blown motor... So i did a lot of research and found out that this model of a car has problems with the crank (they call it crank walk) which means that the crank throws out the thrust bearing which leads to engine failure... so after countless hours of research I discovered that the first gen (1g 6 bolt) engines have a better block design that prevents crank walk... so after I found the the right block i started to looking to making the perfect engine I knew that I need a 7 bolt crank since I wanted to keep automatic (since auto can hold up to 500hp with right mods). After more research I found that Manley Pistons and Eagle Rods will the Lightest possible combo... Once I got all of the bottom end put together I had to do a lot of custom work to get the to get the engine in... including the custom motor mount and pull system.. then I went for upgrading the turbo system I picked up a 05 Mitsubishi Evolution factory turbo and aftermarket manifold with downpipe... Both were customized to fit. also upgraded the intercooler to 500hp rated one with custom 2 and 1/2 inch piping and aftermarket BOV or blow off valve which is causing the the engine to idle rough.... can be fixed with a tune also needs new speed sensor. also the top was in bad shape and I didn't like the color so I got it replaced with a new black one (looks way better now)... now about the suspension I didn't like the ride height so I decided to lower it and the only company I could trust was Eibach... so I got the Eibach Pro-Kit springs with KYB GR-2 struts all around... then I did a full brake job and changed the wheels and tires... I got the 18 inch Motegi MR7 with Brand New 225/40 Toyo Tires in the front. So that is about the my project car and heres about me. The reason I'm selling my project car is I am getting married and I need money for the expenses and I ran out of money to complete this project.

Maserati's Levante crossover gets cold weather test

Sun, Jan 18 2015

With winter in full effect in the northern hemisphere, automotive engineers from across the globe have flocked to the fjords and towns of northern Sweden for winter testing. That includes teams from Maserati, who are pitting a mule for the Levante SUV against the snow, ice and bitterly cold temperatures. The last time we saw a Levante mule was in August. That vehicle, though, was riding dirty without any license plates, meaning it's impossible to know if the vehicle shown above is one and the same. Both sport an eye-catching shade of blue beneath their shape-distorting camo, and the wheels and heightened roof are the same too. Beyond that, there's not a lot to see that's new here. Maserati's decision to move testing north to Sweden while still using a mule is an interesting one. As our spies point out, considering how long this particular vehicle has been testing, we'd imagine it's only a matter of time before we see a Levante testing with a more production-based body, rather than the Ghibli shell that's been fitted here. Take a look at the spy photos of the new Levante, available up top.

Maserati dedicates MC20 prototype to Stirling Moss

Wed, May 13 2020

Maserati is paying tribute to Stirling Moss, the British race car driver who died on April 12, by wrapping one of its MC20 test mules in commemorative camouflage. The mid-engined sports car is due out in September 2020. It's a fitting homage, because Moss logged thousands of miles behind the wheel of Maserati race cars like the 250F (which he called one of his favorites), the 300S, and the famous Tipo 61 Birdcage. It's difficult to add retro-inspired styling cues to the camouflage applied to a prototype, but Maserati pulled it off well. It added simple, eye-catching red graphics of the racer's name to the MC20's rear end and over its wheel arches. The rest of the car is plastered in a Maserati-branded black and white wrap, though there's a red trident emblem on the roof. On a secondary and more lasting level, the images published by Maserati give us a better look at the MC20 — a name that likely won't be retained for production — than previous spy shots. The four round taillights fitted to earlier prototypes have been replaced by a pair of seemingly production-bound horizontal units. We can see the outline of its rear window, and the vents that let hot air escape the engine compartment. The rear panel is held down by four pins. Its front end remains relatively well hidden, though we spot a grille that's low and wide. "Sir Stirling Moss would certainly have liked the new MC20," Maserati summed up. It also reaffirmed its commitment to returning to "a leading role" on the racing circuits, meaning we'll likely see the MC20 driving flat-out on some of the world's greatest tracks shortly after it makes its debut. It was scheduled to break cover in May, but its unveiling was pushed back until September due to the coronavirus lockdown measures. When it arrives, the MC20 will inaugurate a twin-turbocharged V6 engine developed in-house and allegedly tuned to deliver over 600 horsepower. Unverified rumors indicate a hybrid model will join the lineup a little later in the production run with at least 700 horsepower on tap. It will be the first in a long line of new Maserati models, including the next-generation GranTurismo (which will again spawn a convertible) that will be available with an electric powertrain. The coupe will arrive in 2021, while the roadster should appear by the end of 2022. Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is an interesting choice in the world of lux GTs

Wed, Jan 7 2015

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale sits in an awkward place in the modern world of European grand tourers. Despite its voluptuous Italian body, with 454 horsepower and a six-speed automatic gearbox, it's a bit behind the times when 500 or 600 hp are the norm with seven- or eight-speed transmissions. The GranTurismo is also being phased out, but it's not nearly old enough to be a classic yet. Why would anyone spend their hard-earned dough for this Maserati? XCar Films aims to find out and eventually presents an interesting argument about why the GranTurismo is still worth at least considering against competitive entries from Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari or the rest of the European performance pack. This is likely just a temporary goodbye to the GranTurismo anyway, because Maserati plans to revive the name in 2018 with a production version of the Alfieri concept coming in the mean time. If nothing else, this video is a great way to say goodbye to the curvaceous coupe.
